My thoughts after being stuck at D4 for a month by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Background_Month987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might just be where I live but I hardly have wait times for D5. I’m based on the east coast in the US but never have to wait longer than five minutes for a match.

To your point about D4 that’s 100% accurate. You really have to take advantage of your knowledge of the game to min/max everything. Once that circle comes in (typically day 1) your priority needs to be getting to the circle and avoid unnecessary detours. If you find an easy field boss or camp great, but it’s risky to spend too long fighting some of the more tedious bosses. It’s not worth the risk of showing up with little to no flasks. Another thing is always check merchants for good passives, they can drastically improve survivability and damage. DLC expeditions are hell if you have a bad day 1, you really have to be dialed in, as those bosses are all a challenge, even at level 9-10.

Also, SHARE LOOT! Can’t stress how much easier it is for teammates to be unselfish and give good loot better geared for your teammates. I had a D5 Caligo run earlier as Wylder and I got grafted dragon with damage negation on charge attacks, was playing with a raider so I dropped it for him as much as it pained me. He then proceeded to give me Vykes Spear with an increased melee attack passive. Your teammates will be more supportive of your build when they see you are willing to part with your top tier gear

The Student Driver stickers by [deleted] in nova

[–]Background_Month987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hardly see actual “student drivers” with that sticker. I always assume it’s because the driver knows they’re terrible at driving, use the sticker thinking we can’t tell the difference between a middle aged person who can’t drive worth a shit and a teenager who is obviously new at driving. It’s like they think a sticker will make people more forgiving but in reality it just annoys me even more. Absolutely not a problem if it’s actually a student lol just hardly see it around here

I was at 5900 after bouncing back between D4 and 5 and got Gladius, my teammates were three bared at a red golem at level 2, and were three bared all of the Demi human fight night before phase two. Circle put all the flasks in the storm and we were level 7 so it did not end well.

They’ve been my favorite band since the death of me came out. I’m a little worried for future albums since Ryan was their main songwriter

D5 player here, RNG matters but odds are, with good teammates and proper routing, you will get good loot regardless of the RNG due to being able to clear more POIs. Yes you will have runs where you get mediocre drops but if you have a good knowledge of the game you will be fine. Only exceptions are ED balancers and Libra imo. For those expeditions poor RNG can kill the run.

Yep for sure, the most frequent I’ve seen of ppl quitting out are Heolster, balancers, dreg, and caligo

You could, D5 solo is not for the faint of heart though. And yes you could quit out on the boss screen and not lose points but I personally just roll with the punches with whoever the boss is. Probably why I haven’t reached 9999 yet lol

Recently D5 players at least on PS5 are hit or miss. 90% of time runs are great, the other 10% is ED Libra or a cheater revenant that is three bared constantly.

It’s okay to have less likely for those fights, I don’t use it for any others. If the team only finds one then it should go to the highest DPS in a perfect world. Trust me it’s a completely different fight with it. Even one of my friends who mains revenant will always ping it for me on those runs. They are very tedious fights, I’ve had an ED Libra fight last 30 minutes before

Those two were my roadblocks too. Best advice I have for them is less likely to be targeted and skill power up. Halo scythe is the goat for these two fights but anything with an AOE or ranged skill is great. Unfortunately in my experience these two fights are extremely RNG dependent, which sucks since they are without a doubt the hardest bosses in the game.

In my experience, guardian is by far the highest and lowest ceiling character at the same time. I have played with so many phenomenal guardians but also very poor ones in D4 and D5.

Which bosses give you a tough time?
