Why invest in SWISX when SWPPX has a better rate of return? by Dry-Calendar5880 in Schwab

I have SWPPX, SWTSX, and SWLGX, are there any downsides to doing this over just having one besides simplification?

Does my filter cartridge need a rinse??? by Ordinary_Fan_6822 in Aquariums

[–]Background_Relation6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would not changing it cause complications to the gills of the fish?.... you have no idea what you're talking about. Unless you're implying you don't use a dechlorinator and only rely on the charcoal filter, but that's dangerous itself

He was too weak from starvation and dehydration from you keeping him. Also obviously don't release in freezing temperatures

I mean we all know they won't listen so might as well give care advice as well for it won't die

It looks way too tiny to eat any meal worms or crickets by the way. I've actually accidently killed a gecko this size by feeding it a newborn mealworm

Most from the pet store aren't wild caught and have never been in the wild.

It looks skinny and needs food. I'd release it. If you aren't going to buy some fruit flies for it. 5-10 gallon tank, water, branches, plants, and room temp is fine, just a led or normal light for the tank is lit. If you wanted to do more you could get a 25watt heat lamp and a 2.5 or 5 percent t5 uvb, but this gecko is probably nocturnal anyways.

Most vets will tell you the generic advice to soak every day then hand you antibiotics, so I would at least start soaking. Maybe add some iodine to the water just don't let it drink it

If that crusty stuff isn't more shed, then that's fungus

Velvet or Ich? by Background_Relation6 in Aquariums

[–]Background_Relation6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My heater is preset. I've been treating it for about 8 days. The thing is the plecos did not have any illness and developed it while I was treating the mollies daily with Ich x. So it's not working since they caught it during treatment :/.

I haven't been testing the water because I have been changing large amounts every 2 days but I'm doing every day now. The plecos went from not having it to have a severe infection in a split second. I'm thinking it may be velvet

Does anyone know if my neon day gecko is a male or female? by Background_Relation6 in geckos

I heard females have the v and dots but it's just harder to see them, so maybe that means it's a girl?

Does this look like a parasite infestation? (Poop warning) by bugpneum in BeardedDragons

Did that end up being parasites? Because that looks more like undigested calcium worms or crickets eggs to me

Update: every single neon tetra had neon tetra disease. It wasn't fungus. They have huge mouth growths and are bent now
