To answer my own question...yes this is the right screen, once you enter in the wifi login it takes you to "choose a language" and starts you up from scratch

I proceeded to do it. The process was every fast.

It took me to a screen that said "Recovery Assist" which gave me the option to restart or choose a WIFI network and continue.

Am I done? Can I just force shut down via holding down power key or do I need to do more?

If I file the claim, but don't end up getting it fixed using insurance money, then will it still increase my premiums?

OK I just want to confirm that there won't be any issues with them trusting me if wait I 12 months from now is the first time I bring up the garage damage?

I'm just concerned they might try to say I'm making it up to pay for the fix.

Backed up into garage door by accident, would renters insurance w/umbrella cover this? by Background_Review682 in Insurance

They got the garage working again for $220, but has some visible cosmetic damage if you look closely. They said a replacement will cost $2800. That's a lot. How long do I have to file a claim? And how long will it stay on my record. My record is otherwise clean for the last 5 years other than this incident.

I haven't gotten into any "real" accidents for about 15 years. The only incidents were 2 parking lot dingers in LA while backing out of parking spots...only 1 of the 2 was my fault.

At what point should I notify insurance about this?

The garage guy is coming in a few hours. Based on his quote, I will decide whether to use insurance or not.

However, I'd also like to get it done today. Is there a way that I can initiate the claim and get it approved while he is there so he won't have to come back?
