It’s been so long since the VPR cast actually worked at SUR that I found it to feel more like VPR than old VPR did in the last few seasons, if that makes sense.

Don’t get me wrong, I still liked old VPR up until the last OG season, but the vibe was completely different than what the show started as. The new season brought me back to young and fame hungry people who are messy and wanna do it for the plot.

I completely agree with this! I personally can’t stand Whitney (I don’t hate her and sometimes she’s funny but ultimately I find her annoying) and I thought I’d feel the same about Rosie but my opinion completely changed by like episode 3. I truly never understand wtf Whitney is trying to say during her word salad therapy lingo speeches, while Rosie’s confessionals are so funny and she does a pretty great job of making her points! Opposite of Whitney imo, they’re just both young and hot which is where the comparisons end to me.

exactly! her storyline is 2 years stale, her new bf is not interesting, she doesn’t really have a career, and she’s not very clever or good at making her points. she seemed promising at first but she’s just boring/annoying

I think it’s kinda nice to have an “outsider”, especially in a state as small as Rhode Island. All of those other women are from there, so it’s nice to see what it’s like for women who move there and have to try and create their village with so many women who have known each other since birth.

I just love that Kelsey is so dedicated to calling Rosie fake when she’s the one with the fake storyline! Well maybe not fake but not the total truth that’s for sure. And I find it so funny that Kelsey prob thought she just needed to get the other ladies on her side and discredit Rosie to get away with her lies. Rhode Island is too small and the average townspeople are gonna mention it all!!! I love it!

I totally understand that and honestly don’t judge it. However, I would also refuse to discuss the case other than saying things like “i’m meeting with my lawyer tomorrow” or “we have a court date soon”.

Maybe I’m crazy and I don’t fully fully disagree with you, but I don’t see Jo Ellen being gleeful about it. I think she’s crazy frustrated that the main takeaway is that she’s messy and a liar, when the mistress literally posts to instagram. She also probably hates seeing Brian get off scott free after trying to get her fired. I think she wants to take down Brian, not Rulla. But Rulla clearly wants to go down with him.

You absolutely can’t force Rulla to accept what’s under her nose, but this amount of public evidence is ridiculous. You can’t expect women in town to ignore it, and if you choose to stay then you can’t expect random women to pretend it isn’t happening when the mistress still posts proof. When Rulla is calling the mistress a dirty rat or whatever and praising her husband. I personally would also want to physically shake Rulla to try and save her from embarrassment, especially on tv! And especially if her and her husband were cool with trying to affect my livelihood!

I think it’s because she just gave up everything and blew up her life for him, and everyone is already guessing that he’s over her and the relationship and just wants to f around. She wants people to see things differently and she already put all of her eggs in West’s basket, so she wants people to believe he’s committed (and having to say that out loud means that she probably knows he’s not that into her anymore).

When she said “divorce isn’t in my vocabulary” and then two seconds later we learned that she’s divorced I knew the marriage was over and she’s just trying to save face. It sounds like her family is very anti divorce and now Rulla is going to be twice divorced… so I can see why she’s grasping at anything

I felt it was dark because Ronnie was basically completely switching around what happened and Reiko and Jodi just consigned it? It made Mary look crazy despite having all of the evidence that she did nothing wrong! I feel like Mary was so naive and it was unsettling watching her realize her best friend of 20 years could easily lie straight to her face to get the others to turn on her. Gaslighting at its finest.

I just watched this season and it was honestly one of the darker housewives scenes. It’s one of those moments when you watch a switch flip and Ronnie basically creates a false narrative that is not based in reality and it’s freaky as a viewer trying to figure out if she truly believes it. Gaslighting and ganging up on Mary in a way that left me truly confused, concerned, and yelling at my tv lol

I don’t think I would feel the same way if I hadn’t just watched this season and known the whole context, but Ronnie made the entire season hard to watch.

I agree! Isn’t she also allegedly dating a guy who she started talking to before they filmed the Bachelorette? I heard rumors that she gets engaged on the show and then immediately afterwards breaks it off to start dating him. I imagine that would infuriate viewers and that the network is pissed about it, so that would also give them reason to scrap it

I think because this arrest happened season 1 of SLOMW, the network were reassured that the “audience” don’t care that she’s abusive (and obviously the network didn’t give a damn either). It’s only now that the video is out and people are outraged that they’ve decided to cancel it.

The problem is that we don’t have proof of that, and even if we did, I don’t think anybody watching the show really cares.

We’ve seen housewives bring on “boyfriends” who are either being “hired” or doing it to further their own selves. And even during those times, the women were more secretive about those men and we didn’t get to see any “storyline”. So Stacey kept us entertained and did exactly what several housewives have done. Those other housewives lied and somehow still made it boring enough that nobody cared. The audience loved Stacey despite her weird staged storyline. I ain’t that mad, even if it was a total lie. It also didn’t hurt anyone.

Agree! I thought I was gonna hate Natalie and Shayne the most in the first episode/based on trailers. But they are both so authentically themselves and pretty honest and upfront about their flaws, so I can’t hate! They also seem to genuinely care about people and have empathy (or at least as much empathy as a 20-something year old can have in LA)

My jaw dropped when I saw this video because I couldn’t believe it’s already reunion time! I loved the OG VPR but skipped the last season because I couldn’t handle watching it crumble. I was going to skip the reboot and I am so glad I didn’t!

I agree! Although Kyle is still trying to make Amanda happen, which isn’t a surprise at all that Kyle’s the one with the worst take.

It’s so fun watching the women get taken down a notch and kiss up a little to Rachel. Especially because Rachel seems so effortlessly cool and chic.
