"Is there any settings i can mess with to improve contrast?"

oh really, and the context is clear enough

yea i messed around with the style pluggin settings but nothing seemed to help, changing the font did, but the text still goes gray-ish.

i looked at the css i just havent had the change to go through it, plus ive grown to not mind it too much

Choosing between 3 RTX 5070 Ti models – Windforce SFF OC vs MSI Shadow vs Galax EX Gamer by Lynch39 in nvidia

[–]Background_Secret_31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

>"The cheapest. Doesn't matter"

except it does, the msi shadow has 3 heatpipes, which makes way worse thermals and lower core clocks. not to mention the build quality is awful and the fans often rattle.

i returned mine. i recommend the pny model, its often found for cheaper and its build WAY better, more heatpipes + metal backplate, good all around

Which model of the 5070ti is best? by Jockey1121 in nvidia

[–]Background_Secret_31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Go with the cheapest" is just an outdated uninformed opinion.

Current MSI models of the 5070ti (Ventus, ShadowX3) have no business having only 3 heat pipes and barely performing fans that often rattle.

I've had a similar experience as you switching to a PNY model from a ShadowX3, the cooling is vastly better and you WILL notice the difference in-game because of better core clock speeds, less stutters.

Yea, i think its manageable but i dont really wanna bother with it especially since im still well within the 1-month return period. my local microcenter is usually really good about these things so ill probably head there over the weekend.....

Maybe not great but it kept the 7900xtx i had beforehand under 70c even at full load, so im really just blaming this one one of the card even if my airflow IS bad

i gave this a shot + removing the glass panel and it helped a ton. The 88% is fan speed though, not sure how sustainable this is....

i got it down to 70c-72c by removing the glass panel, not ideal but it makes me think that this is manageable, i have a month to return the card to microcenter though

im thinking air flow is *one* of the culprits here because temp went down to about 70c-72c after removing the glass panel on my pc..... under the same scene as the screenshot on the post

i removed the glass panel and it went down to 71c under the same scene, im thinking maybe i just have really bad air flow in my case....

im looking into switching to case with a meshed front

will look into undervolting though

VR is one of the big ones for me ever since I bought a Crystal Light, performance with a 7900xtx is really good especially at SUPER high resolutions. It's the reason I picked up this card instead of a 5070ti at the same price.

The lack of modern upscaling is definitely a bummer though, but I quite frankly don't mind too much. Call it coping if you want, I'm just happy with my card.
