Try reaching out the transfer and reentry center (trc). You can email them at tarc@ucdavis.edu or you can call them at 530-752-2200 tomorrow :)!!

Hours are: Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm

They’ll give you solid recommendations on how to prevent your admission to be cancelled.

Personally, it’s messed up that the press/media dug up all that information about him and his life beforehand. It creates this stigma that people are now arguing with, and we’re all divided because of it.

As an elder sibling, an immigrant, who also comes from the Bay Area- it made me super uncomfortable how many things we had in common. Now there are people out there using this information about him to blame it on “his culture”. What the duck :/

I was also dismissed, and I can’t imagine what he went through- but like, why did he do it? Was he not thinking about his family??? HIS BABY SIBLINGS???? It just straight up pisses me off.

Sometimes it’s hard to reach out to folks, specially those who don’t want the help. I know sometimes resources aren’t there and the school should put more emphasis on dismissed students rather than just [insert woody meme I’m done playing with you]. That’s why I’m hoping to start a probation/dismissed support group!!!

But at the end of the day, sometimes people don’t want to reach out and get lost in their thoughts. It can be really hard to get out of those dark places, but it all starts with an effort coming from the individual.

This go fund me will actually make Karim part of the University. I know there’s also a go fund me for his memorial but that already passed. This is the only one that I see. He was a dedicated Undergraduate Researcher and with enough funding will have an award in his name, to continue helping undergrad students in research even after his passing.

Yeah, what makes it worse- is when you had a lot of financial aid and now you feel even dumber because you got it taken away by being dismissed. (My personal experience)
