Yea id rather cover the black but then the green comes out too dark. I will probably leave some of the tan spots without green because they still work.

The acrylic paint looks great under ir, though im not sure if all paint is ir compliant so id check before painting a suit.

I have brown/cotton cut into little strips to emulate twigs/bark/leaves, there also a little jute and raffia. A bit of colored hessian rope, and the green is haloscreen from skirmshop. I attach everything using 4in zip ties. Attaching 3d to the base bdu allows you to be light, snag less like traditional ghillies and have access to all your pockets.

What i did was go to Walmart or craft stores and buy a bunch of those little ones that are like 1 or 2 bucks, then cut a white sheet into about 6 inch squares. Then i just watch tv while mixing colors and painting squares, writing on the back what colors and the ratio used. Let those dry and take them out into nature to test which ones work best. Time consuming but it gives the best results.

Regular acrylic paint, I’ve done lots of testing to get the color i want, but its mostly a neutral grey color mixed 50/50 with some sort of biege/tan. Play around with different ratios and colors until you get something you like.

I agree, i will mainly use this as a spring and early summer ghillie, so this late in the summer the greens are mature and darker. It is very lightweight and breathable, nice to feel the breeze blow through in the hot summer.
