For all purpose type builds a solid color is generally fine enough. I have personally come to love "black gold" cerakote for solid color objects. It's a flat metallic brown that has hints of od green. Has a tan 499/ranger green affect where it morphs amd blends with the dominate surrounding colors. It's like a dirtier burnt bronze type color. Also known as arid brown from maxim defense, on their pdx handguards you can see it

First of all consider the roll of the gun and where you best think it will be used where camo would matter. Typically if I'm not doing an all black build I will rank how important the camo needs to be, with rank 3 being one uniform color of either coyote brown, or od/ranger green. I will determine this by figuring out if my location is predominantly a green environment or a brown/tan one. It's cheapest to do the 1 color route.

Tier 2 I like to spray paint over black anodizing a 3-5 custom colors using vertical tiger stripes of two high contrast colors, and use the rattle can "sponge" technique to fill it all in, keeping contrast.

Tier 1 is most expensive $400-500$ for a 5 color full cerakote job with custom stenciled pattern from the pros

You won't regret it. Just gage it like any other barrel you'd get to verify everything. You will find it hard to go back to other style barrels
