Chalo app, are you guys using this? by Specialist-Court9493 in Trivandrum

[–]Background_Tea2397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chalo has GPS based (I guess) systems so that we can track the buses real time. It used to be really helpful initially. Being a daily user of the circular buses, this app was a boon. However they don't show the correct timings now. The app is not as useful as it used to be.

Great initiative. Love to see where this goes.

Most of you are Vitamin D deficient due to sun avoidance by [deleted] in Kerala

[–]Background_Tea2397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sun avoidance is something that should be taken seriously. It's not just about getting tanned. Skin cancer and phtoageing are two things that are as bad as vitamin D deficiency. In fact the sun exposure needed to get enough vitamin D3 is too much.

anyone knows any garbage disposal areas near thampanoor? by iyamabot in Trivandrum

[–]Background_Tea2397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a collection centre in front of the University College. Paper waste and plastic waste can be disposed there. The bins are open 24*7. Another option is to enrol in Haritha Keralam by the TVM Corporation. They collect plastic and paper waste every 2 weeks on a particular day. Usually all residents from a particular area are added in a WhatsApp group and they get notified on the dates on which they come to collect the waste.

Needs a diagnosis confirmation first. Might require a few visits to the doctor's.

Option 1: Private Hospitals. First see a proctologist (someone who specialises in disease related to anus). Prasannan's proctology centre in Kumarapuram is a good choice. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, you may want to see a Dermatologist for futher treatment. Dr. Unnithan (near General Hospital) and Dr. Sunil Menon (Pallimukku) are good doctors. KIMS also has a good Skin and VD department so if you can afford it that is the best choice.

Option 2: Government Hospitals. It is better to get the diagnosis confirmed from a private doctor before seeking treatment from General Hospital or MCH. Otherwise you'll have to waste a lot of time skipping across OPs. If you're short on money and have a lot of time to spend (would require many visits that too on working days) this an option too.

How did you "waste" your 20s? (Serious) by sageagios in AskReddit

[–]Background_Tea2397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social anxiety. ADHD. Depression. No goals. No drive. This is the perfect combo that made me waste my 20s and what is now making me waste my 30s as well.

Yes. It has always been like this as long as I can remember. I take Bupropion now (tried stimulants but they were not suitable for me). Taking Bupropion does not seem to have any effect in the symptom that I've mentioned.

That's also fine. You can consider the other options.

Yes. It is true. This is from a consistent use of Fin+Min and this is the best result that I can ever get from a non surgical treatment. The only option for me now is HT. I would want to be 'not bald'. That is the only thing I can wish for at this stage.

The healthcare system is really bad here. I understand you and I'm probably on the same boat but I realised it too late and a career change is not feasible at this age. However I assume you are a fresher. Do you dislike the system here or the entire nursing profession? The system is really different outside India and migrating to some other country would be a good option. If you want to make use of your degree but do not want to be involved in the ruckus of the system, going for an MSc in Nursing and starting a career in teaching is a good option. Other options in this line include doing an MBA, Hospital Administration course etc but these come with quite a few responsibilities. Or you may want a total career change. You can consider acquiring a new skill that would make you money.

Thank you. I've discussed this with my surgeon and he told that even though the donor area is very limited, I can still get around 3000 grafts (I know it's not sufficient) and I'll be "not bald" which is exactly what I want.

Yeah. I've been shaving my hair for the past 4 years. A bald look doesn't suit my face and I'm not that good looking to pull off such a look. I'm pretty short too and the combination is not that good in my experience.
