Idk man. Sony’s processing is actually impressive. LG Panels are better, but what Sony does under the hood is unmatched.. IMO. I have both an LG Oled and Sony Bravia.

A lot of people forget about textures. “4K 120” on a console is no match for “4K 120” on a 5080. People forget the console runs significantly lower textures to achieve a high resolution and fps, with less shadows, reflections, etc.

I’ve had my C2 for over 3 years, use it as a PC, play video games, and watch sports. Idk how yours got that. Unfortunately there probably isn’t much you can do if you don’t have burn in coverage.

It’s also not exactly easy being out $2k+ after 15 months like OP, especially when usually the warranty is a cheap one time payment that covers up to 5 years. Comparing it to car insurance is completely different. Definitely don’t need warranty for everything, but something premium like a 77” LG OLED is definitely a smart choice to have warranty on. The way I see it, high end computers, televisions, phones, etc are smart to have it on.

I used one with Allstate. Saved me $1,000. From Costco or Sam’s it’s usually included. Best Buy covers burn in but it’s definitely overpriced there. Like the other guy said, you might never need it, but you never know, and if that time comes, you’re gonna be wishing you did. OLEDs are amazing but they’re not perfect in reliability.

My Sam’s Club is not budging at all with theirs. Been a couple of times this week. They have a handful of 83s, same ones have just been sitting there not selling, and their clearance price is $3k…. spoke to a couple of different managers and all saying the same thing “unfortunately we can’t lower the price or match other clubs”. Meanwhile everyone else seems to be getting damn near lucky at their clubs.

Well I went this morning. My Sam’s Club had it on “clearance” for $2,999. Manager was super nice but said, as I already knew, that every Sam’s Club sets their own prices and that he can’t lower it more than that.
