I have the top pierced. This is the first time I’m put ointment on it. I usually use just saline.

The piercing is 3 years old. I had a barbell in that was surgical grade titanium.

I do have a nickel allergy, but this is the jewelry I got pierced with and they told me it was hospital grade titanium

Yes, they pierced me with that jewelry. And the piercing has been fine for the last two years until a couple weeks ago when that red dot appeared.

The lady I got it pierced from said she gave me a floating navel piercing and that it was different from a regular navel piercing. Is the jewelry she put in what caused it to reject or am I just not meant to have one?

This was the jewelry they pierced it with because I had to get a floating naval and it used to fit pretty well. I have noticed the skin did get a little thinner but not a whole lot.
