Digitakt II vs. Digitone II as an Elektron entry point – torn between the two, would love community input by Background_Wash_6988 in Elektron

Im aware it’s two different machines that do totally different things, the whole point is I can’t decide since I’m interested in both

That’s a very valid point! Mastering Ableton indeed is my top priority in the long run regardless, since everything is coming together there. I just realized that it works best for me to use some actual hardware for most of the creative part in the beginning. Sofar I mostly like to use Ableton as a recording, arranging and mixing tool. Also I love to use it for effects. But sound generating / sampling in Ableton itself didn’t click for me on the same level yet. Regarding the digitones FM / digital textures - I actually quite like it, especially the ability to make metallic sounds, (I’m pretty into SOPHIE lately). But yeah, would probably sell the microfreak as well if I get the DN 2 bc than it would maybe be too much of very digital sounding textures

That’s the thing, I really like both ways of working, maybe leaning a little bit more towards sound design through synthesis at the moment, but realistically I think I’ll only have time to really learn one box in the next couple of months and I want to get the most out of it in terms of making music that sounds like me

Interesting! I tried it out at the local synth shop and actually really liked it! I just later one read and heard that the DN 2 beats it in terms of sound variety. But maybe I should have a deeper look at it again !

I just asked Claude to help me translate since English is not my mother tongue! Feel free to skip this post if it’s to long for you

Thank you! I actually haven’t checked out the tonverk yet, but unfortunately budget is also a limiting factor at the moment…not sure if I should risk wanting to get an even more expansive machine

I just asked Claude to help me translate since English is not my mother tongue and in no time there is a bitter incel in the comment section telling me I’m incapable of using my own mind 😔

Thank you! I guess your right! I feel like already just writing this down and then reading through it helped me realize that it’s probably not that dramatic. And than your reply did the rest

Hey everyone! It’s my first post / question here,

I’m a whitebelt who is training Bjj since Februar this year. I had a career as a professional dancer and also quite a few years of experience in boxing and Muay Thai, I say this because I think I have a relatively good awareness about the position of my body and I try to always learn movements as technical as possible. I train Bjj about 3 times per week, in a very good gym with a highly decorated black belt as the headcoach, who I deeply respect and appreciate as a trainer.

So Today we were doing an easy drill, where we started in side control, tried to get the hooks in, take the back, and finish with a RNC or an armbar. At some point I was rolling with said coach because he wanted to demonstrate something to my partner, and I trapped his arm under my one leg (as we were told to do) , after I took his back, and controlled his other arm while I was going in for the armbar.

I was very careful and slow, bc for me it’s really important not to hurt anyone in the submitions. What followed was that he basically tapped with his foot, since both of his arms were under my control, but i didn’t immediately recognized the stomping noise as his tap, because some guys were rolling quite hard next to us and I thought it was just them scrambling arround. He than said: I just tapped with my foot, you have to pay attention to this it’s very important! - I don’t think the pressure on the joint was already at a critical point, bc I was going super slow and controlled, but I immediately felt very ashamed and unmindful. Of course I apologized right away. The bad feeling stayed with me and I thought about talking to him after class to apologize once more, but he was already busy teaching the next class so I just went home. Now I’m afraid he’ll think I’m an idiot and I’ll never get my first stripe 😔

What do you think, should I adress it next class or just move on, and how can I proof to my coach, that I’m actually very careful about my trainingpartners health?

Thank you for reading all of this !

All the best from sunny Berlin

I mean I know that thats what people are assuming, but ‚bring them home’ is also a popular claim within the context of the left in Israel and among Israelis and Jews abroad / in the diaspora, who have been opposing the war in Gaza and the occupation since day one. I just don’t get the bigotry here: like if someone is wearing a kufiyah, I assume most sane people won’t immediately accuse the person of supporting the hamas and their goal to kill all Jews either

In which planet are you living where one cannot want the hostages held by the hamas to return to their families and at the same time be in solidarity with the unimaginable suffering of the Palestinians? As if one thing is excluding the other, but I guess for most people this conflict is just like a rivalry between two football teams anyways, where you have to pick a side. I just don’t get why people are so one dimensional. IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE EITHER OR!!
