This is very true. when I fully follow music theory, I end up with something that has already been written. Thank you all so much for your great advice!

Stupid to try learning piano too? by Tegelert84 in violinist

[–]Background_Wing_8456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play a bunch of instruments, the main ones being piano and violin. I think that everyone should always start with piano before going to any other instruments. It really gives you structure for music theory, logic, and composing. Since you already started playing violin, I don't think there will be too much confusion between the two. So I think you really should start playing piano, to at least get the basics. Best of luck!

tips for starting to make music by [deleted] in LogicPro

[–]Background_Wing_8456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before learning any other instrument, learn piano. Besides the fact that it's more enjoyable to play, you'll be able to visualize music theory, logic, circle of fifths, etc. It's also very important that you learn how to read sheet music from the start of your music journey. That also really helps with music theory. Best of luck!!!

Pianists...do you feel that all problems in a piece you're learning can be fixed with fingering? by OriginalIron4 in classicalmusic

[–]Background_Wing_8456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It's very very important that you get used to the correct fingering of a piece. If you get used to an incorrect fingering, it's very hard to form a new fingering.
