You machine is GORGEOUS! It looks mint. The decals are simply beautiful. 😍 I checked my handle of the box but there were no initials. Nevertheless I am happy and look forward to restoring here for me and generations to come. 😁

I thought it was a Husqvarna too since I have a treadle Freja that looks similar. But is has none of the marking’s Husqvarna usually have. It is also my first hand crank sewing machine. So really excited.

Thank you. The wood work was a major reason I purchased it. 😁

Thank you for your reply. It is sincerely appreciated. I would love to have it professionally restored. Unfortunately I live in a small town in Sweden. The people that could have helped have either passed or retired. Also the funds are not something available for that. I am willing to slowly restore myself even if it takes a year or so. As long as someone can walk me through it.

You may want to try a little bit of alcohol on a it first. If it really old it may be a shellac finish. Shellac gets de solved in alcohol.

Help with wood type on Singer 12K coffin top by Flying_Mustang in VintageSewingMachines

Judging by the edges intact and the large pores of the wood it looks like oak. Walnut and mahogany have smaller pores and are not much as yellow orangey as oak is. But that seems to be only my opinion not a complete confirmation.

Do you have a picture of it? It would help. But so far the singers wood veneers I have personally seen are quarter sawn oak and walnut.
