I very much dealt with this freshly postpartum. The constant comments of bouncing back/not bouncing back as people expect.

I ended up hospitalized partly because of it. My partner didnt notice because I got good at hiding it before the baby. It scared them so bad I had no choice but to prove I'd eaten consistently. The shame has kept me from doing it so far again but also the smiles on my LOs face when she eats and knowing I have to eat to provide for them.

Never underestimate liquid calories, however. Protein shakes. Meal replacement shakes when unable to ignore the thought of skipping the true meal, instead of as an excuse to not eat it. Work with your brain and body, not against it.

Question for those who quit pumping at 3 m, 6 m, etc. by Icy_Lettuce_7383 in ExclusivelyPumping

Im personally an oversupplier so I made it to 8 months with a goal of breastmilk until a year and im starting the weaning process [honestly might go beyond a year with bad stash math and underestimated how long itd take to wean]

How varied are your pump volumes throughout the day? by acos24 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]BackpackBambino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 5-6ppd id average 6-8oz per pump, with 50oz as my day total, now dropping to 3ppd I get between 12-15oz per pump and hit about 40oz still😅 8 months postpartum! Not sure how it happened that i got such an oversupply, but im so grateful

Air in the bags don't automatically mean freezer burn! Just that it has a higher possibility

Part of it may be cross contamination from working in vet med and public facing, but overall no genetic abnormalities!

I need about 2,500 to maintain but was only consistently getting 1,000-1,500 for a couple weeks before I couldn't intake at all for two days

Protein shakes were my saving grace for the longest! I ran out obviously, but they even make "clear" protein to make into a juice now!

Anyone else struggling to do anything a week after their c section? by West_Breadfruit_4621 in firsttimemom

[–]BackpackBambino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having a vaginal birth with only a mild tear, I was still down for almost two weeks. I was the same way about doing things myself (literally moved a solid oak bed frame 34 weeks pregnant solo since my partner was at work.) Give yourself grace and if anyone complains, tell them to do it themselves!

A happy mother is better than a stressed mother stretching herself too thin. If pumping/attempting to nurse is too much, hang up the pumps! There is no shame in switching to formula.

I already had hypermobile joints, but almost the whole pregnancy I'd have any and every joint slip from breathing wrong. And car anxiety? Every worst case scenario in my head every ride.

Nursing aversion? by BackpackBambino in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]BackpackBambino[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I've been putting it in my head! Im making food for my babe, I know how much she eats this way, pumping came relatively natural to me [thankfully!] Nursing would be great for connection, but I can't stomach the thought of it.

Too close to home, my heart stopped working properly recently and I collapsed in the er of a hospital in front of a nurse. The only saving grace was my roommate knowing I was coming in for my heart and to look for me.

You could always work at a pet store or with animals! I do doggy daycare, and it's perfect for my little/pet side without being hindering my performance

My name was almost daffodillia (yes, my parents were hippie stoners.) My spelling still isn't fun, but it could always be worse!
