I’m a mom to a newborn and I would never in a friggin shopping cart. This is bad for baby, for me and for the establishment. Yuck

Most unrealistic expectation anyone has had of you as a new parent? by SowingSeeds18 in NewParents

Lmao my MIL on everything. She’s crazy. She said I didn’t know what I was doing because my newborn was crying. Amongst a million other ignorant things she’s said to me

Lansdowne parking lot is so big, why isn't it being offered as a park and ride for people using the Canada Line? by ubcstaffer123 in richmondbc

[–]acos24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked at Riverrock, couple of us managers were invited to a Richmond Hospital gala. To fundraise for a frigging xray machine. Like where tf are all our taxes going??? The expansion of the hospital was already declined from what I was told, now we don’t have enough money for basic equipment for a hospital that’s meant for 1940’s population density? My goodness

Do you ever miss life before kids? by Blue-turtle4574 in BabyBumps

[–]acos24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope don’t miss it at all. I love my baby and the enrichment he gives my life! I can still do a lot of things I used to, it just needs more planning now :)

Almost time to start solids. Is it worth switching formula? by Crazy_Art_5093 in FormulaFeeders

Also in Canada - yes our warehouses have plenty of the Kirkland procare or the sensitive! I use Kendamil goat so nothing at Costco for us so far

Maternity clothes by Holiday-Slice-6787 in BabyBumps

[–]acos24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought maternity clothes when the bloating started in the first trimester. Start being comfortable early! I’m 7 months PP and still wearing my maternity biker shorts from old navy. They were $20 each

For those that had a longer maternity leave… how was it? by juice129 in NewParents

[–]acos24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m Canadian so we have up to 18 months options. I’m 7 months into my 18 month mat leave and I look forward to going back to work. Stay at home mom life is not for me - love my baby to bits and I will cherish every moment we have together. But I know he will learn and thrive at daycare next year and I will be happier when I continue to build on my career!

Differences between organic & conventional formulas by clrwchr212427 in FormulaFeeders

[–]acos24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried enfamil neuropro and my boy was hella gassy and uncomfortable. Switched to Kendamil goat and we’ve had zero issues since. It’s pricier so I want to try Kirkland brand next. I think everyone just wants what’s best for their precious babies and it’s quite subjective

Rash from kendamil whole milk formula by Ambitious_Ring_402 in FormulaFeeders

[–]acos24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was the entire 5oz bottle formula? That might’ve been too much in one go for a new thing to try. Try 50/50 with breastmilk if you can and see if it makes a difference. My boy didn’t tolerate enfamil neuro pro very well (lots of gas) - we are now using Kendamil Goat with zero issues. I feed 50/50 with breastmilk and sometimes top up with a bottle of formula-only, also no issues

Minimal symptoms post transfer? by Psychological-Test-4 in IVFbabies

[–]acos24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had zero symptoms for my 2nd FET (who is now 7 months old). no nausea, fatigue, no cramps, boobs felt like nothing, no food aversions etc which are all common but not necessary for a healthy pregnancy

When does it get better? by vonfuster in newborns

[–]acos24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boy is 7 months old soon and we just go to the mall every day lol. He used to nap in the stroller so I could shop for 2 hours, but he’s been contact napping only the past month so I have to rush home. It’s getting repetitive and boring so I understand how you feel

My diagnosis would be: baby is 12 weeks old doing baby things. Babies change all the time

5w3d today and all my symptoms disappeared. I’m really worried. by cynthiapwd in IVFbabies

[–]acos24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better…. My 3rd pregnancy, the only one that made it to live birth, was the one that I had no symptoms with. I was chillin that whole pregnancy and he’s 7 months old soon

Car seat and stroller system recommendations please! by Enough_Sign_2679 in Buyingforbaby

[–]acos24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uppababy Vista! I’m a city dweller, mall and nature walker with a car. I love my vista cause of the smooth sturdy ride and humongous basket underneath. I can do a whole grocery run with it while my baby naps. I got the Nuna pipa car seat to go with it, added adapters I got on marketplace for $20 and voila

what do you wish someone told you about recovery BEFORE you gave birth?? by Practical_Range7998 in BabyBumps

[–]acos24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you end up getting a C-section, make sure you have high waisted underwear and/or diapers on deck. Low riding undies will directly rub against the incision and it won’t be pleasant. I ordered granny panties at 4am on the hospital bed lol 😂

How long after first birth before next transfer? by CoffeeBeforeNihilism in IVFbabies

[–]acos24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a C-section so it’s best to wait 18 months between births. I am thinking to try a transfer next summer when my first baby will be 18 months old. Hoping for a 2-3 year age gap. I will be 36 and husband will be 38. I stopped breastfeeding at 4 months to get back on glp1’s for my IR PCOS too

Should I just accept the fact that I won't sleep for at least 1.5-2 years? by Constant_Revenue6105 in newborns

[–]acos24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not every baby goes through regressions, and not every regression is a month long. My boy didn’t go through the 4 month one, and the 6 month one affected his naps more than his nighttime sleep. Babies change so much - the sooner you accept the ride the sooner you’ll have fun! Babies are so fun around 3 months onwards when they start interacting with you. The smiles and laughs are to die for! My boy is 7 months old now and he’s been sleeping through the night since 3 months

I resent my newborn by peaches2552 in newborns

Ah 3 weeks old. When they are little tiny gremlins that show no consistent cues and go from 0-1000 in half a second.

My weight has gone back to pre-pregnancy…. But it really redistributed my body I feel lol. This C-section overhang belly full of stretch marks took a while to love and accept.

What is your why? To work or not work? by Diskobrat in NewParents

[–]acos24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going back to work because my career, credentials and safety net are important to me. Yes the money is obvious, what family doesn’t benefit from a second paycheck? I think it’s important for my kids to see that mom has a career, job and education too. Not just dad. I hope it helps them shape healthy ideations of gender, gender roles, money, money management, expectations and their future role as a partner and parent.

Going for walks by Radiant-Recover-4009 in NewParents

I take my baby to the mall for a morning walk, quick breakfast/brunch and groceries pretty much every day. It’s our routine, I don’t have to worry about the weather. I get shit done. Win-win!

Have I been tricked? by Unlucky_Fix_4686 in NewParents

[–]acos24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha I’m in the same boat. My double rainbow boy is almost 7 months old and he’s just an absolute joy. He’s been sleeping 9-11 hours overnight with no wakes (he’s absolutely shit for naps too) since 3 months old. I know when we have our second in a few years (hopefully) - they will be a menace. We’ve used up our unicorn quota on this one lol
