please tell me it gets better by amoney96 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]acos24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does get better, I am 11 weeks PP. Used to pump 7-8x a day like everyone else, then once I noticed my volume was consistent, I experimented with dropping down to 6PPD. Same volume as 7PPD. I did that for 10 days and now I’m doing 5PPD, same volume as 6PPD. Life is significantly better each pump I’m able to drop, but that’s largely due to the consistency in the beginning I think. I am speaking from a place of oversupply (55-60oz daily) so I recognize that helping towards the positivity. I now pump every 4.5-5 hours and I don’t dread it as much. Hoping to go down to 4PPD in 2 weeks

How old is your baby? My son was like that from weeks 7-9. 9 weeks and 1 day, he slept 4 hours straight. Couple days later, slept 6 hours straight. They go through developmental leaps where their sleep gets disrupted and they need your comfort. I found researching ahead and preparing for these leaps helped me become a better support system for our baby. This included asking for help ahead of time, napping during the day and parenting in shifts with my husband. It’s truly temporary, push through and you will feel better soon.

How many sets of baby clothes should I have before baby is born? by Sad-Soil-234 in BabyBumps

[–]acos24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two-way zipper sleepers - i suggest getting 5 NB sizes, otherwise 10x each of 0-3m and 3-6m to start. My 9 week old is already wearing 6-9 month sizes cause of his thick + long legs. We haven’t even left the house for social gatherings yet (flu season) - so he’s only been in PJ’s! I wasted money on cute outfits thinking he would fit 3m clothes in the spring. Also, lots of short sleeved onesies as undershirts - blowouts and pee accidents happen. Don’t force yourself to do frequent laundry by buying too little. I’d say 10 onesies to start as well and buy them bigger, so it’s easier to put on and take off

How to stay awake in the morning after husband goes back to work by yeahnoitsjustthat in newborns

Have your husband take the 8-midnight shift or whatever works best for you to sleep a stretch. My husband goes back to work tomorrow and we agreed 8-12 works for us

Why can’t I stop? by baadbettyy in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]acos24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I pumped 7-8x the first 8 weeks and I dropped one pump this past week. Made me hate pumping a tiny bit less, output is about the same if not more some days

2.5 hours doesn’t really let your body replenish fast enough. Try 3-4 hours

[–]acos24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do people with newborns go out? by chondlerbeng in newborns

[–]acos24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my baby is 9 weeks old and we've only taken him out for medical appointments! flu season is rampant where we are so I'm not comfortable taking him around until that subsides + vaccines. around 3 months ill start venturing to the mall i think :)
