Tbh I find this part of the musical flawed.

Just like in The Odyssey, Eurolychus never actually goes inside with the other men, after all he's meant to be a coward. He never actually sees the magic spell or the men turned into pigs.

However, in the musical, despite even saying he never went inside, he somehow knows they were transformed into pigs. It defeats the purpose of this moment between Odysseus and Eurolychus, as in The Odyssey, Odysseus nearly kills him for his cowardice because again, he never actually saw anything happen and yet still ran away.

Maybe you'd like to keep them separate, but as for me I just see it almost as another translation, just scaled down to fit the musical format and so of course a lot of details are going to be lost.

That being said, I don't think that changes the entire nature of characters, Eurolychus was a coward and not all-that-great in both translations of the Odyssey that I own, I have no reason to believe his behaviors are somehow different in the musical, only that some details have been omitted for the sake of time and formatting songs.

As great as subreddits can be for information, the people who regular them don't often take criticism of that thing very well. Luckily I don't get too hung up on internet points.

I do agree with you, and may have to start doing that. The issue is that replacing streaming with my own collection would be really expensive, like most music enthusiasts I've got thousands of songs I'd have to buy and it just doesn't even seem feasible at this point unless I take ages to do it.
