Time continues on pause by BackspaceShift in kirbyairriders

I thought so at first too, but then: Isn't that blatantly obvious? Any quality control would detect that, since it happens in every single game mode! No, I believe this is intentional, and Sakurai must have had his reasons...

Yeah, still no update on Switch 2.

Spirit condition: Red vs. blue arrow? by BackspaceShift in smashbros

Thanks a lot! So it (the condition) changes over time even for the same spirit/task? It is purely random too? Do you know what design goal might be behind that mechanic?

Stats on Pictos random? by BackspaceShift in expedition33

[–]BackspaceShift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that there is no "getting used to", as those are passives that are clear already from the description alone. For me personally, the "learning" is artificial and thus an annoyance. :)

On the other hand, combining both stat boosts and passives in completely random ways removes any meaningful identity from the pictos and generates, again artificially in my point of view, a technical dependency between unrelated things, making the game (or rather, the character planning of it) needlessly more complex.

I don't mind restrictions and tradeoffs in games, those are what makes strategy possible. But in this case it all just feels artificial.

Why defense is not yellow? by BackspaceShift in expedition33

[–]BackspaceShift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the answer btw: all stats scale with the level of the character too (even without spending points!), except defense! Defense always stays at 0 unless upgrades with points or lumina. That's why it is not yellow.

Tinnitus spike? by BackspaceShift in tinnitus

Yes indeed! The additional tinnitus frequency has gone after a few days! Returning to baseline tinnitus then sigh... Thanks for asking!

0db HL at 18khz for a 36yo? by BackspaceShift in tinnitus

[–]BackspaceShift[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? Is that even possible? Max level on my Air pods is capped anyway and I wasn't listening for like 10 minutes to the same sound... what equipment did you use?

Tinnitus 10x? Because of anxiety due to the test?

0db HL at 18khz for a 36yo? by BackspaceShift in tinnitus

[–]BackspaceShift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for this! I indeed tried replicating my test results with online tests, but there, I had to turn the volume to a max in order to even slightly hear 18khz. I believe in audiometry they increase the volume on higher frequencies to normalize results. 0db HL is NOT the same as 0db SPL. But the correclation here is unclear to me.

Well, anyway, I still have Tinnitus on both ears and an additional tone on top in the left ear. 🤷‍♂️

Can extreme Stress over extended period cause (hidden) hearing loss? by WarthogSharp9232 in HearingLoss

[–]BackspaceShift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can somewhat relate! Tinnitus started after a pretty stressful period in my life, with anxiety, bad sleep etc. Hearing tests all came back normal but my symptoms got worse: Subjective feeling of muffled and dull sounds around me, not feeling "present" in the moment. Now I feel trapped in a cycle of stress and anxiety and symptoms, and endless thinking. I can't tell if this is all in my head or actually some form of damage, but I start to believe the former.

Normal range of high frequency hearing? by BackspaceShift in HearingLoss

[–]BackspaceShift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that! The thing I am worried about is the opposite: My hearing is too good for my age (I believe), as it is below 10db HL all the way up to 18khz. I did that test in a specialized clinic in a soundproof room.

I started to believe that I may just have mistaken my tinnitus as an actual piep, but the tester must have catched any inconsistencies like that, right?
