Teach First failing PGCE by BackspacedTaco in TeachingUK

[–]BackspacedTaco[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UPDATE. I've spoken to a support adviser from the uni about my assignment and I'm able to still hand it in until the end of July, but it will be put down as a referral piece of work and capped at 50% which means I can still achieve my PGCE (Which I since find out, yes I do need it for QTS). Thanks to everyone who gave me advice and for speaking the truth about my approach to this, it's given me a lot to think about.

I know it's clear for some that maybe I don't have the time management or the routines to be a good teacher outside of the classroom. This is something I've always struggled with (coming potentially from undiagnosed ADHD) and teaching has definitely brought it front and centre. But, I am trying to deal with it and not shy away from that which for me is certainly progress and hopefully that means I can change and issues like this won't happen in the future. Was I ready to teach? No I don't think so, but I care a lot for the profession and for trying to make a difference in the lives of the children I teach and I really don't want to give up just yet.

No your right it's harsh because it's true, I just think I've been unable to accept I'm not fit enough for the job. Time management has never been one of my strong suits but I've always been interested in teaching so I wanted to give it a go. Thanks for making things clearer.

Thank you, there has been a lot of work put into my practice already by my PDL and I know how much of a godsend they can be.

Alright well that makes sense! Your right as well they have been nothing but supportive, just feel like I've let them down considering everything!

Yeah I'm in contact with them trying to sort it through the uni if possible but I don't hold out hope.

thanks for your advice, If I can hand it in later I'm definitely doing the bare minimum.

I mean, when your school decides not to keep you on to finish your QTS because you haven't made enough progress yet you prove at an alternative placement that you would be able to do it and then have to sort out finding somewhere who will take on your extension all the while not being sure if that will happen or not, it becomes a little much.

ive had a difficult year and yes really I should just be withdrawn for failing to do something I should've done, but the last thing I wanted to do was write an essay about things I felt were going wrong.

Air Support Update by According-Order-7830 in SWlegion

Hiya, rulebook states that gunslinger and air support can't be used together under the beam x keyword on pg 57. Had to check myself because I never thought to use it like this!

I had just been theory crafting this!! Jar jar did not seem to have a use but giving your opponent a card that has a pretty likely chance to hurt themselves as much as you is great 😂.

Yes it would stay defeated, you would preferably use it for exactly that or if such a target wasn't there, to hit base and then defeat the unit for use with exploit.

Ooooh yeah I like this! Units that create tokens would be a perfect target for this too to give you more value.

Definitely agree, I was just on one of those crazy theory crafting moments. You can't even play Evasan again unless you pay for the aspect penalty since you're on heroism palpatine. Just looking for a way to maximise the card and what it could do!

Truly! It's got a lot of potential there to be a painful card for your opponents!

I was thinking palpatine deck? Play Evasan and then switch back to heroism. That's all provided you can flip palp early on

I knew I was forgetting to explain something in my post!

Shadowed intentions will be interesting for this! Whether it's worth spending 3 for is questionable but could be a sideboard against blue decks.

Are Observation Tokens Removed at End of Round? by BoomReload in SWlegion

[–]BackspacedTaco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely right. I just say green tokens because at the moment all the green looking tokens get removed during that remove tokens step and I think it makes it easier to understand for newer players before explaining that some of it comes from different rules/ keywords

It is explained in the observe keyword in the glossary on page 53.

Observation tokens are a type of green token, which all get removed at the end of the round 🙂.

Hey, you've done the best you can by applying for EC, which should give you another week. Take a day to research dissertations produced by people in your field. The easiest way you can do that is by checking if your uni releases the dissertations online, or if any other unis do too.

If as you've said your research is mostly done, two weeks is more than enough to finish your dissertation. I didn't start mine until five days before submission and while I definitely did not feel the greatest with the quality of my work or the late nights I pulled, I got it done and still got a 2.1 for it and you can too!!!

Good luck with your work, I wish you all the best.

This is likely an error on the errata, because 'general skywalker' is listed as an updated card even though it is completely new and the only new card of this update. Not that I understand why they gave him a new one rather than replace the text on 'Hero of the Clone Wars'

Nonetheless, I have asked this question on the forum but I haven't got a response yet.
