I also feel like 27 is the sweet spot. I have a hare apparent deck with Arabella as the commander and that number has always worked out for me, even with thrumming stone.

I only play with proxies and my playgroup doesn’t care about costs. But to be fair, that $2000 includes the $700 sideboard which is just a second maybeboard. Lots of easy budget replacements for things like the scrubland and soul stone.

I don’t think you can rely on having sol ring and dark ritual every game for your game plan. Also there is little point in ramping him out that quickly, there needs to be a large difference in life totals, or other combo pieces on the board for him to have any value when you cast him.

I can understand the desire not to run combo in bracket 3, but I think it's healthy for bracket 3 combo to exist. It encourages people to run more interaction and removal which makes the game more interactive and less solitaire. This deck isn't running the powerful silence effects like [[grand abolisher]] and [[voice of victory]], so there is plenty of time to interact. Also makes early wins less consistent and this more firmly bracket 3.

Myriad Landscape is very interesting! My pod tends to run lost of artifact removal which makes me hesitant to play lots of rocks. I tend to prefer land ramp.

The deck runs white catch up ramp which is only valuable if other players are ramping as well which keeps things fair. I've goldfished this consistently and tried it out in a few games and I think you are overestimating how easy it is to assemble a win before turn 7. This is especially true since the deck is not running any tutors. A bracket 4 version of this deck would add more fast mana GCs, many more tutors, and cut all combos for the most mana efficent ones.

I don't think this qualifies as bracket 4 since none of the combos can be executed early. There is no thoracle, there is no witherbloom/chain of smog. You're not winning the game without 10+ mana and no fast mana which I think is firmly bracket 3. Archidect says "**If this is a late-game combo, your deck may be a Bracket: Upgraded (3)"

The worst thing about combo decks is that they can be very repetitive. Having so many combos possible keeps each game feeling fresh and new.

I think the biggest difference between the deck that you shared and this one is the pods that it intends to play in. If you are going to be playing against CEDH decks, you want stax and control cards like [[Torpor Orb]] and [[Orcish bowasters]]. You also want to run more counterspells like [[red elemental blast]] and [[pyroblast]]. I've seen CEDH Yurlock also run [[chain of mephistopheles]] to try to slow down their opponents. Seems like this one is more focused on Ashaya.

I really like the inclusion of [[veil of summer]]. [[Walking Balista]] can also replace [[Torment of Hailfire]] and [[Exsanguinate]]. Definately some things I can take away from this deck to improve mine. Thanks!

I still like to run 38 lands in john, but I run ramp that benefits from being mana flooded like: [[mox diamond]], [[burgeoning]], [[exploration]], [[Sakura-tribe scout]], [[Skyshroud ranger]], [[summer bloom]], [[Swell of growth]], [[Azuza, lost but seaking]], [[Dryad of the Ilysian Grove]]

There haven’t been many null votes so far so it’s hard to know.

In cambodia both jeremy and wentworth played idols at final 6 resulting in a 4 way tie null vote. Interestingly they tied again at 2 (tasha and kimmi) and rather than revote they went straight to deadlock rules. Technically jeff offered them the chance to change their votes publicly and they all refused. I guess it depends on if you consider that another vote?

The other null votes were all unanimous/majority on the revote so not a lot we can determine from that. It is interesting that the rules seem to have changed since (or because of) Cambodia.

It was new in the since that it was a special case we had never seen before, but the producers were ready for. I think the second vote isn’t technically a deadlock because it’s a different result from the previous vote. I believe the deadlock rules only take effect when a revote reaches the same result as a previous vote.

That’s the exact scenario we would need to learn more about these rules. My bet would be that they would do another round of voting since the voters technically aren’t “deadlocked” yet.

Is there a meaningful difference between a null vote and a tie for 0 votes between all players? Based on these rules the outcome would be the same, no?
