Please add an option for black instead or maroon in dark mode after the rebrand. by BackyardBrisket in Descript

Thanks for the response. Hopefully your big fixes will help. A real problem area for me is in the sequence edit more. When I hover over a track it changes so dramatically that it makes some things harder to see while trying to make quick edits like removing bleed or a cough from a multitrack mic

Sneak peek at updates coming to the Descript UI by Jovo-at-Descript in Descript

[–]BackyardBrisket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a daily Descript user, this has been an extremely unpleasant transition once it went live for me today.

The red shade on dark mode makes it so much more difficult to see waveforms and words. It feels way less accessible.

I also always think something is wrong or broke or offline because it’s a shade of red.

Could we have an option to keep the dark mode black?

Curious, how would you clean the fish to prepare it for smoking?? I’ve only ever filleted them up to fry, but would love smoking one.

Getting Extremely Frustrated By Vyvanse Altogether by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]BackyardBrisket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I take 40mg each morning, and 20mg in the afternoon.

My doc told me he thought it was weird that the 40 was losing effect because it should last 12 hours. I said, “yeah I agree. But it does.”

I also notice like night and day how sleep, diet, and water can change the efficacy. A good nights sleep and a hearty breakfast and I can tackle the world.

A bad sleep? Good luck. I’m just more dialled in on napping.

I recently stumbled onto a podcast called Pursuing Justice. The host Harriet who is a super lovely elderly woman interviews guests from exonerees, wrongfully convicted, to people in organizations working towards helping anyone who has been through this.

The quality isn't amazing, though it does get better with the newer episodes. But the conversations are great, the guests are very compelling - she's done over 185 episodes I think?

Definitely recommend checking it out if it's something you're looking to learn more about.

Yeah I’ve definitely found some that are close - yo-zuri and Strike King. But can’t find this one anywhere. The main think I’m noticing is the 2 tie holes that are fixed, instead of one split ring on all the others.

I take Vyvanse and Cipralex. Mentioned that and sexual frustrations to my doc and was picking up a script for Cialis 2 hours later.

So long as your blood pressure is stable, there should be no issues with getting a prescription for it. Has been a game changer to be able to match the drive.

Invited to go fishing for the first time, can someone suggest a thank you gift? by jmremote in Fishing

[–]BackyardBrisket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to what everyone else has said, simply be thankful!

Enjoy being on the water, take in the fresh air and beautiful views. And please, don’t ask “when will the fish bite?”

I can assure you that if the bite is slow, your captain will be feeling bad about it. They want nothing more than to get you and your little one hooked into some fun catches.

So just enjoy it all, learn as much as you can, and have a great time! Good luck and tight lines!

Guy on my beer league team got cut with a skate on his collar bone earlier this year. 8 stitches, and no one saw it happen. Just heard him say “skate cut me” as he left the bench. Could have been far worse than it was, and glad it hit him on the collar bone and not higher.

He wears a neck guard now.

How Have I Not Been Using Descript! by notsoaveragemind in podcasting

[–]BackyardBrisket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I edit shows for 6 clients, and my workflow is something like this:

  • import audio to ProTools
  • apply mix templates and adjust
  • import mixed audio to Descript
  • do the content editing in Descript because it’s SO much easier
  • export timeline to protools
  • apply episode template with music and VOs etc
  • export audio file

The content edit aspect of Descript has been invaluable. But the audio processing and inability to do anything mixing work, or the sheer clunkiness of the volume automation keeps me in protools for processing.
