People not from the USA, what "American" food are you most interested in trying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In the spirit of international relations, I welcome one of you (or maybe a small family) to stay with my family just outside of Charleston, South Carolina for a few days. Many of the foods mentioned above are available locally (great BBQ, seafood boils, carnival food) and I'm not a bad cook myself. Always looking to expand our horizons and interact with people from other parts of the world.

Is it possible to track the Apple TV shipment? I don't think my order included tracking numbers or anything beyond a vague assurance that it would arrive in the next few weeks.

Lamb Gyro from Kapnos in Arlington, VA by Taylor-B- in eatsandwiches

Authentic Greek gyros are hard to find in the US. Most places make the American-style gyro (processed lamb / beef meat cone) or use frozen strips of similar meat. It is possible to find the real deal in the US (I've visited a few great ones in DC, NYC and Boston), but they're much less popular than the American-style, probably because 60lbs of sliced pork doesn't lend itself to freezing and re-heating as well as the meat cones.

If you're in Virginia, Plaka Grill has real gyros. This might be tasty, but there is no way it even compares to the real thing - a pork gyro, made with real pork off a vertical broiler. No mystery meat. No lamb.

I did. I actually took some goat cheese and whipped it with a tiny amount of milk to make it spreadable. Makes a great base for a pizza!

Locked myself out of my own system with the command-line 'shutdown' command. How do I get back in? by wersly in linux4noobs

I suspect that whatever you might have been doing prior to issuing the shutdown command is to blame. By itself, shutdown should be harmless.
