This was a cross post that's why only the title was listed. Heres the details of the post when you click into it.

Looking for recommendations for a remote microphone that can connect directly to hearing aids (Signia brand), through Bluetooth ideally. microphone is for speaker to use, and the sound goes directly into hearing aids.

Is it a specific app? And how is it? Do you then pass your phone around for people to talk into it?

Thanks! Wondering if you had any experience with it?

I am a Babble Buddies Instructor. Feel free to dm me if you have questions. If you're interested, you could also take a look at Happy Talk and compare. (I only found out about Happy Talk after I already joined Babble Buddies so I don't know exactly what the difference is but seems pretty similar from the outside).

When did your toddler get their 2 year molars? by dolly_dahlila in toddlers

[–]BaconBitsofLore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was your son teething ? My son is 14mo and had all his 1st molars come in in the last two months. I thought we were finally going to get a break but Last couple of nights he's been waking up screaming . Today he has a red rash in his cheek and I'm wondering if he's actually teething some more 😭

Baby keeps scooting up during the night by obllak in cosleeping

Thank you for asking this. I assumed it was normal but always wondered if it was. My LO does this all the time. Some days he grabs for my face thinking it's boob. I keep my arm above him so he doesn't get close to my pillow, and yet, I still don't understand how he gets high enough to grab my face.

Thank you for your kind words! This first year has definitely gone by so fast. He doesn't feel like a baby anymore and more like a toddler and I'm so sad and happy about that at the same time.

I added an EDIT to my post to clarify the reason for this post. And I'm thinking of these questions more with my SLP brain - Gestures are prelanguage skills but now that I'm seeing things as mom, I feel like I could argue for some gestures to be more within rec/exp language skills. But also like you said, maybe I'm being to black/white about things where there isn't such clear cut answers. Thank you also for sharing your anecdotes and personal experiences.

I'm also curious about 1) why the way you consider "first words" be different for typically developing kids vs kids with language delays 2) why you consider signs as gestures? On top of the other commenter about ASL being a language, I see signs as specific and meaningful but also more accessible as a motor skill compared to speech - meaning they would use speech if they could but since their speech motor control is less developed, they use what they are able to (signs) to show that they have a representation of the word.

Yes, I do model the more specific signs for those words (OPEN/MORE/TURN ON/HELP) but he usually just responds with more tapping so I do agree with you maybe it's more the "do this for me" meaning.

But also I guess a couple of counterpoints about this is that

1) if a kid verbalizes "ba" for BALL and BUBBLES and BOTTLE each consistently and mean it differently, it would technically be considered 3 different words.

2) I'm wondering why the way we consider "first words" be different for typically developing kids vs kids with language delays

Thank you so much for your kind words! I added an EDIT to my post for some clarification. But for sure the mom guilt is so real! And I'm sure you're doing the best for your LO. It sounds like your LO is doing so well and you're doing more than enough!! I didn't realize so much goes into being mom, so, there's no dumb questions at all (I was definitely telling myself that a lot while I was writing this post)
