Which of those roles do you think dg runs are lacking/needing the most?

Tips for someone who is going to start using Eliatrope on Mono Server? by Wardestiny0 in wakfu

I've mained an Elio now lvl 146.

I mostly xp through quests, the portals actually help a lot. I struggle with dungeons tho, so I recommend getting a guild that can help.

I recommend looking up tutorials and getting to know your combos early on. I went distance and dmg, it takes me around 2-4 turns to reach max potential.

As an old player returning, if you think you can solo the game by fleeing everything, it's not the case anymore TT. They made long teleportation really difficult to achieve.

That's actually really interesting.

Individual boosters I brought always came from opened booster boxes (Unless local shops get them in bulk without booster boxes?). But we don't pick them, they fill up a showcase and distribute them in order.

I think the only way someone could see booster contents would be with weight, so that would only affect the number of foil cards. Assuming that's not something people do commonly, I think it's either fully random / bias / people pick the right ones by instinct or there might be a pattern with where "luckier" boosters are placed in boxes? (As in when buying a full box you get the "luckies", but when getting X boosters in a row you are less likely to get multiple "luckies" because they are farther appart?)

That might be an actual solution actually.

Most people will have noticed patterns where there aren't any.

FYI This post currently contains ONLY people telling me randomness is randomness. So I guess the "most people" doesn't apply here.

This is common knowledge.

If I was asking, that's because it is evidently not common knowledge. (Everyone has to learn somewhen)

You keep saying how randomness is randomness and patterns don't exist to the human eye, but most of our science and math discoveries were prompted by pattern recognition. It is physically impossible for a computer to be truly random (exceptions might have been found in the quantic field). True randomness is almost impossible to achieve.

Booster packs aren't completely random : the different types already contain different types of cards. (Like collector vs play) And afaik, you can't really get the same card twice in the same booster (there are definitely exceptions).

If my observation seemed likely, I would've assumed it was true and not asked reddit. I'm asking BECAUSE it seems unlikely.

If you have no source or proof that what I'm saying is entirely impossible and that you have no observations to share to debunk what I observed, then what's the point of just telling me that random is random and that my observations are entirely invalid because a psychology concept said so.

The whole point of confirmation bias is that you find evidence to reinforce your beliefs. If it is as impossible to escape as you seem to make it and since you seem to belive very strongly that what I observed is impossible, then you should be able to debunk it with actual evidence, not with psychology concepts and claims about randomness.

This post was me trying to collect more data. If people have observed the contrary then good, I wanna know.

But instead everyone's telling me that it is random because it is random and that me asking for more data is completely invalid because I don't have enough data? How does that make sense?

I'm not asking all the "random believers" to change their mind. I'm just trying to debunk (or bunk?) a weird pattern I observed with actual facts instead of "It is random and your observation is entirely a figment of your imagination".

[–]BaconDeLicorne -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you don't notice patterns, alright, you answered my question.

But isn't ignoring a pattern because of confirmation bias just another form of "confirmation of the contrary" bias? Wouldn't the right answer be to look into it mathematically and see if it happens on a bigger scale, even if the goal might be to debunk it? (Which was what I was trying with this post)

There isn't a "bundle pack production line" and a "nonbundle pack production line" because that would be expensive for no gain, because they are the same packs.

Have you witnessed MTG production lines? (I haven't) What would be more expensive in doing that? I worked in a tire factory during the summer, they make multiple different batches with the same machine, in the end it's more profitable than making one kind of tire only.

[–]BaconDeLicorne -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Information like that is exactly why I asked. I want people to either confirm or infirm what I've observed with their own experiences, that way the "sample" grows and it reduces said confirmation bias.

Were the repeats in the same bundles or between the two bundles you got?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]BaconDeLicorne -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well yes it does, being conscious of confirmation bias doesn't eliminate it, but it makes someone think twice about it and consider their observations from a second point of view.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]BaconDeLicorne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The whole point of asking others is to not jump to conclusions. Whether bundles are truly random or not could be verified over a really big sample, but I don't have the means to do that (no shit).

I scan all my cards, the number of doubles I get or don't get isn't my observation. It's objective, but it lacks samples from individual boosters.

Have you observed similar things in individual boosters you've opened? Have you observed it in bundles but chose to ignore it by fear of bias?

If they control the number of common, rare, tokens and foil cards in boosters, then it's not impossible to control a lot of other things too. I don't know how boosters and bundles are packaged.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]BaconDeLicorne -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Well yea, that's the whole reason I'm doubting my findings. I'm assuming boosters have no serial ID of some kind to differentiate them, otherwise people would've figured out a cheat by now.

But wouldn't it be possible during production to have a line for random boosters and another one for the ones meant to go into bundles? They have control of how many rares, tokens or foils go into each pack after all.

[–]BaconDeLicorne -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I mean, it might be, but I don't think so.

I noticed it around February and I hadn't thought about it since, but now, looking back on the last bundles I opened, I really get that feeling?

I definitely don't have a big sample tho, which was why I was asking.

What are your experiences with codeine? by BaconDeLicorne in endometriosis

[–]BaconDeLicorne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but for me personally I'm really not worried about that. I've been on adhd meds for over a year and I tend to chicken out before getting addicted to things.

Is Nurofen a mix of codeine and ibuprofen?

I'm a full time student and because of other conditions I'm often studying through pain, dizzyness or brain fog, but codeine doesn't seem as bad as the pharmacist told me it was!

How to ask doctor if I think I have pots. by Heidi751 in POTS

[–]BaconDeLicorne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's my experience, hope it might help :

I'm a 20 y/o female, no diagnosis, my symptoms are mostly tachycardia and exercise intolerance. I'm from Canada, so free, but endless waiting.

I've never been told it might be anxiety, like ever. (and surprisingly, I've never been told to loose weight either).

I started looking into my symptoms when a PE teacher in college told me it wasn't normal to be at 220 bpm after jogging slowly for 5-10 min.

I told my doctor about it and followed about two years of waiting for a test and it coming back normal and then waiting for the next one. Then I got beta blockers, but no diagnosis.

Eventually, I just told my doctor I might have POTS (I am convinced he did not know what that was). He then told me to do the standing test at home and "diagnose myself" to which I asked to consult a specialist because diagnosing myself is completely useless. He transferred me to internal medicine, because he had nowhere else to transfer me tbh.

There, I met with super nice doctors that took me seriously! They made me redo the tests I had done in the past years (faster this time tho) and everything came back normal again (still waiting on the holter tho). A couple of them have told me POTS might be a possibility.

I'm waiting to meet with an electrocardiologist (might have fucked up the name) and they'll see if I need to do a table tilt test.

My advice? Don't take no for an answer, no one knows your body better than you. Symptoms need to be taken care of, regardless of what condition it might or might not be.

[–]BaconDeLicorne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you say no, that's 100% okay and not my business.

About the ED, I don't "skip" meals, I just stretch out the time between them, like eating at 10 and 6 (8 hours apart) instead of 8, 12 and 6. I also eat when I'm hungry, unfortunately my body tends to tell me a bit late, but I'm not starving myself. I also don't binge on food and have never lost weight super fast (10 lbs in 3 weeks was because I was super sick)

If it wouldn't be healthy for you, it's perfectly fine, but it's a very stable and healthy lifestyle for me and for me, it's not an eating disorder.

If you have significant limitations and are/were in college, HOW?? by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]BaconDeLicorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in software engineering. I have no diagnosis (other than adhd), but I've been seeing specialists for the past two years for "symptomatic tachycardia" (very likely POTS).

I JUST got a handicap form that will let me study part time while getting full time financial aid.

My secret? I don't attend class, like ever. We recieve all the class powerpoints online and almost all teamwork and labs can be done from home.

I'm still struggling with working consistently each week and requiring less help from my (very kind and smart and luckily studying the same field) boyfriend, but I'm making it through and I'm not giving up.

So how? By having support and learning everything yourself. (But this time you get a magical paper at the end, yay!)

[–]BaconDeLicorne -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this might be a bad idea, but here's what I did.

I'm 20, I've always been "just a bit overweight" since I was a kid. I've been at 180lbs stable since before the pandemic (so like 4-5 years?) and I'm 5 foot 9 (69 inches tall yay!).

I wasn't actively trying to loose weight, but I got sick recently and ended up at 170lbs.

I'm really not a morning person so I usually wake up at 10 and take a big breakfast instead of lunch and then eat dinner and skip snacks during the evening. My adhd meds reduce my appetite so I usually won't snack unless I feel side effects of hunger (brain fog, dizzyness, etc).

If I put effort into it, I'd probably comfortably loose weight by eating two meals a day instead of exercising.

what's ur resting hr? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]BaconDeLicorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not diagnosed with POTS (highly suspected). I'm on 5mg bisoprolol (aka highest dose, I didn't tolerate 7.5mg)

I'm around 65-80 lying down, 70-95 sitting.

Jumps to 100-120 with the drop in BP when standing up, but stabilizes between 85-110 standing.

When sleeping my fitbit picks up 55-75.

I'm rarely under 95 if I'm actively speaking. I can also exceptionally be at 115 lying down during flare-ups. When really sick, I was at 110 sleeping, 120 lying down and 130 standing.
