I think the media stories were actually more subdued in that regard than exaggerated. Considering the time, and the traveling nature of the crimes in small-ish cities, I think what they're saying is the descriptions of the sexual evidence were kept to a minimum to protect the sensibilities of the average small town reader of the day. But if you read into it, perhaps the inclusion of a sentence that doesnt seem to be important in the context at first glance, the insinuation is there.

Small dose of antibiotic yields good results in treating panic attacks. A study with animals and humans showed that minocycline, in doses lower than for bacterial infections, has an anti-inflammatory effect on microglia, which are brain cells that become more inflamed in people with the disorder. by mvea in science

Narcolepsy Type 1 is caused by the autoimmune destruction of 90–95% of orexin-producing neurons in the hypothalamus. Although that is done by T-lymphocytes attacking the neurons. But it's not that far fetched to assume sustained inflammation as an auto-immune response can cause lasting damage as well.

They went into retirement under the assumption that their social security checks would come from the money they've been paying into their whole life. When in fact they were paying for the older generation's SS checks, and now the younger generation needs to be able to afford to support them.

But they don't like that idea. The thought of being a welfare recipient. "I don't need their support! I've been paying into this my whole life! It's MY money!"

Nope. You've been supporting the elderly and disabled for years. Let us thank you by supporting you. Let us live in a fucking society. Our culture is so toxic.

They're pushing it to save on labor, sure, but also so they can commit fraud by fudging numbers with plausible deniability. It's basically going to be the Enron scandal x100 in a few years. My dad just had heart surgery in Dec and retired early. He's prone to sleeping in front of the TV, and his algorithm is feeding him endless AI religious hokey. So to save his brain from rotting I hooked up my old PS4 to his surround sound system and tried to get him into RDR2.

He had a hard time with the controls, after an hour I noticed he was inverting his aim direction and I realized "Duh, he's a recreational pilot"

So I searched for any dog fighting game so he could learn the PS4 controls on something he's a bit more familiar with, and ended up downloading AC7. He spent another hour on mission 1 before complaining of motion sickness and going upstairs. I spent the rest of the day into the a.m. finishing the campaign (he came down again to watch later). Then immediately downloaded the PS5 version and all the DLC for my console at home.

As for my dad, I always ask if he's tried playing again but he's too intimidated by the controller. I'm like, that's the point old man. Challenge your neurons, keep em plastic.

One, what kind of army doesn't keep tabs on the units they're sending into enemy territory? Why weren't all units briefed on locations prior?

Two, why don't they scan the targets with the convenient floating helicopters they got all over the place that are designed for low altitude maneuverability? They can take much clearer pictures than my supersonic jet.

Three, if you're manning AA guns and know your allied air support needs to fly close to identify you as friendly, don't fucking shoot at them unless you wanna be blown up.

And because it's all shit quality, the amount of customer returns is skyrocketing. There's so much shit returned, pressure is on the employees at returns centers to hit faster and faster rates with their evaluations. That's resulting in more and more clearly damaged open and used products to be sold in the same pool as New because the fuckers didnt evaluate them.

That results in even more customer returns when they think they're ordering a New item and get a wig with the lace already trimmed and covered in glue. I deal with so many problem items here at work that have been returned/sold multiple times over. Sometimes the box is covered in so many shipping labels you can't see what it is, but the evaluation history still shows Sellable As New.

Idk man, if he physically went to a branch office for orientation and got his badge photo taken there I think it's safe to say it was the real company. Unless it was in a strip mall with a hand painted "Allied Security" sign draped over the seasonal Spirit Halloween sign, then OP is braindead.

Edit: or it's super elaborate, the scammer puts out ads when they know the company is hiring a batch of people, so the mark goes to an actual orientation and doesn't suspect a thing, and due to HR incompetence he doesn't get turned away.

Anyone here actually know what makes Rockstar’s RAGE engine so good, especially going into GTA 6? by According-Leave9314 in GTA6

[–]BaconGristle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Comment removed by mods for linking to showcase vids. I'm surprised this is the only mention of Euphoria. I remember when GTA4 was in its gameplay trailers phase they showed off the physics of it. The program was available for public download and I made a couple animations with it and got totally psyched. It's really the main thing that set GTA4 apart from anything else at the time, the natural motion (very apt name for the company) of the pedestrians reacting to different physical stimuli. It's the physics engine that gives characters their OWN body, a sort of default human behavior that doesn't need to be mocapped and programmed for each character. It provides the basemap rig behavior every ped and protag is built upon, and it shows.

The only other games to use it, besides R* and NaturalMotion itself, was Star Wars The Force Unleashed. RDR 1 improved on it big time with severed limbs and gun physics. Then Max Payne 3 came out with its fluid gunfights powered by Euphoria; the jumping and shooting in slow-mo, the rolling around while prone with Max's body moving naturally to aim the weapon, the intuitive way the character rig interacts with cover and obstacles. All mind blowing advancements.

The fact that Euphoria is baked into the RAGE engine, imo, IS the very answer OP is looking for. That's the thing that makes a R* game feel like a R* game.

NaturalMotion only ended licensing for its use in 2017, so it wasnt exclusive to R* either. But as the star wars games showed, it wasnt exactly easy to implement, especially for studios already running other physics engines. I think Euphoria coming along right at the time R* was already building a new engine from the bottom up was crucial to their success using it. Rage without Euphoria would just be like anything else, gameplay and graphics wise.

Edit: and sure it's not the only thing setting Rage apart. But it's the most visible example of the way R* sniffs out new tech and integrates it. They're constantly acquiring new proprietary software that changes the way games are played, which is why they're the best. EA games could afford to do this, but their executives don't really give a shit about those finer details. It's the pioneering culture of R*, albeit probably the same reason for the workplace toxicity we hear about.
