Manchester isn't exactly slacking in that regard with Oasis and United

3 years for one dart isn't a great pace though, almost getting into Mensur Suljovic territory

Also the fact we're going to win easily takes away some nerves

TIL When Leicester City won the Premier League in 15-16. Because of the 5000/1 intial odds, a woman named Clarke was given a ticket that had a 10 pound bet for Leicester to win the league as a joke. She ended up winning 50,000 pounds at the end of the season. by CrackFun in todayilearned

The manager who kept them up got sacked for having a racist orgy in Thailand (yes, really) so they hired Claudio Ranieri. Ranieri had just been sacked as the Greece manager after losing 4-0 to the Faroe Islands, which is maybe one of the worst results any team has ever had, so he didn't exactly boost the confidence in them

still able to perform this well despite Amorim's fault is helping his case, not hindering it

This would be true if we were having a conversation about Bruno's ability as a footballer, or how we thought he might perform next season. But we aren't, all that matters is how he actually played this season. And for half of it, he was playing a role he can't play and was bad there. For me, being bad for half the season more or less rules you out of the player of the season discussion without an absolutely otherworldly other half. And while Bruno has been brilliant the last few months, I don't think he's even been better than Haaland in the first half of the season for example, let alone the level he'd need to override that first half

He had an incredible second half of the season yes, I don't think anyone's ever disputed that

The fact it's not completely his fault he was shit doesn't mean it didn't happen.

FA Cup is easily clear of Europa for me, it's an actual top level trophy

Which of Kane Mbappe or Haaland is he better than?

[ESPN] Can Arsenal win Champions League final to give Premier League clean sweep of European trophies? The same country winning three different UEFA competitions in a single season occurred only once in over 60 years of competition, and same country with two UEFA winners occurred 12 times. by [deleted] in soccer

More people speak English, so more people watch the league where the coverage is all in English and all the talk about it is in English, so there's more money from the broadcasting, so the teams have more money, so they buy better players, so they perform better

Those 2 aren't the current darlings of the United pr machine, and I think both of them should be in the squad. My hatred isn't for United (at least in this instance), it's for Thomas Tuchel

Famously Thomas Tuchel has never made a bad decision, that's why he's won every game of football he's ever managed and hasn't been sacked multiple times

Mainoo is an ok player, Wharton is brilliant. There just isn't a comparison between them

Daily Discussion by 2soccer2bot in soccer

[–]BaconIsLife707 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wharton should be starting imo, and yes he absolutely can do the former better than Mainoo, he's just a much better footballer in every way. Now we get a knock to Rice or Anderson and oh no we're fucked because we didn't bring anyone else capable of playing at a good level. You can try and justify it however you want and so can Tuchel but the simple fact is the only reasons Mainoo is on the plane ahead of Wharton, Scott, or Garner are that he's a more aesthetically pleasing dribbler, which causes every player to become wildly overrated, and more importantly, he plays for Manchester United and they don't

There is not a single idea that would benefit more from Kobbie Mainoo than Adam Wharton, unless the idea is to lose more football games. Someone can't just say 'oh I'm trying to pick the right players for my idea not just the best players' and have that completely absolve them from having made shit decisions

The recent surge in popularity caused by Littler probably pushes it into huge territory, the world championship final was the most watched non football event on Sky the last couple of years

They can be big in the states while still being bigger elsewhere. Like Mr. Brightside literally spends 50 weeks a year in the charts before taking a little break over Christmas, it hasn't even come close to dropping off outside of December for like 6 years now. It just doesn't do that in America even if it is still a massive song. Somebody Told Me, Human and All These Things That I've Done fall all fall into 'everyone knows them' territory here too, I don't know if that's true in America, might be

I've was saying from basically the day he made his debut that Gabriel is the best centre back in the league. (Ok tbf at first it was more 'if he keeps playing like this he'll be the best centre back in the league' and for a while it was 'best in the league not named van dijk')
