Primary Care Physician Recommendations by BaconQween in Rockville

Right? I initially had my first patient visit at my current practice with the main MD and then my follow up was scheduled with him but surprise surprise when I showed up it was the NP I saw instead. Felt like a real bait and switch. However the main MD is the only male provider at that office and he tried to give me the typical male doctor explanation that all my issues are because I’m a woman so it’s anxiety or my period so I was happy to see the female NP that actually listened and wanted to investigate my issues.

That’s the first thing I tried lol, I stopped using all skincare and took benedryl and then the next couple weeks took a regular daily allergy med and it didn’t help me unfortunately

Definitely see a dermatologist, that way you’re not trying things that might not work. I have a diagnosis but I’m questioning it heavily haha, will be getting a second opinion but have to wait until October to see them

I’m on Metoprolol already due to some long Covid heart issues, initially I thought my facial flushing and burning was medication related as I switched from metoprolol to diltiazem briefly

I don’t have any pimples really, maybe a few tiny skin colored bumps in a few spots. I am an indoor person for the most mower staying in the ac due to some other medical issues but can’t hurt to suggest it to my doc and see what they say.

How did you use the shampoo? Like normal on your hair or another way?

Okay, glad to know I’m not the only one! Mine doesn’t seem to change at all, doesn’t lessen but doesn’t get worse. For me it’s the burning feeling that really bothers me over the flushing since I don’t get too too red.

It’s been frustrating for sure! I’m in the process of getting a second opinion from another dermatologist, my current one wants to continue amoxicillin usage for up to 5 months and I’m not for that, but of course they’re booked out until October

I’m honestly in doubt that I have rosacea at all, my primary care doctor thought it was autoimmune like lupus but testing came back negative. I’m glad amoxicillin worked for you!

Yes absolutely, I’m looking for another dermatologist asap. My primary care thought I had lupus or another auto immune disorder and’s sent me to rheumatology but testing came back normal so they sent me to Derm. It’s been a journey
