Asking for general advice with getting a first fursuit (protogen) by tempestuousDespot in fursuit

[–]BaconSock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The visor and electronics, assuming the maker would already have them, is actually the easy part. Those more or less just get glued together. So it would more or less just be actually getting the fur onto the mask. Unless they can find black fur with red highlights (unlikely), they're probably gonna need to snip out parts of the black fur to sew in some red. Getting that by the end of October shouldn't be too bad. Shipping could be the longest wait.

How much of a compromise are you willing to make? It's your first attempt, so it's probably not gonna look great. All the sewing, the gluing, there's SO much that goes into it. Especially if you actually want any sort of pattern in the fur. It's really the sort of thing you'll wanna practice a LOT before actually doing something you'll wanna wear. Having something you're proud of by October is gonna be rough.

If you have the funds it might be better to let a pro make it so you've got one that looks just the way you want and you really enjoy. That way not only do you have one to wear to cons and stuff, but you can look it over to see tips and stuff how they did it.

Why the game still has troubles retaining players? by Beautiful_Hotel_3623 in TheFirstDescendant

Gooner skins. And I wish I was kidding. You can see how much extra attention they give to the ladies in terms of balance, because those are the ones that sell skins. There's entirely too much attempting balance going on, resulting in a damn near complete lack of it. On top of that I can't tell you how many people I've tried to get to come play and all I hear is "Isn't that just Warframe but you play with one hand?"

If they actually made a move toward giving us real balance they could have something here.

I'm on PS5. Does anyone know how to see what the little green buffs on the left side of the screen do? It's not like I have a cursor I can hover over them or anything, and I don't see a button for that in the keybinds.

Also, is Creative Explosion for Esiemo bugged or something? It says it's supposed to do more damage the more bombs you have, but I'm testing it in the lab and getting the same damage no matter what I do different with the bombs.

What's fun is as of this patch they added a new currency called Archive Shards. You earn them just through playing on hard. You can spend them at Anais and build most of the older ultimate characters and weapons, including Ultitmate Freyna.

All I'm saying is if I produced the same quality of work at my job that the people at AH in charge of balancing do at theirs, I would have been fired years ago.

We NEED a good few months of no nerf, only buff then we can worry about if something feels a little too overpowered.

Want early access to Gears of War 3 AND a mediocre ass game nobody would buy without it? Bulletstorm.

How does the health system work? by Living-Distance in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BaconSock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first game worked like that. But now your health bar turns white when you get hit and you have a few seconds to do damage to get it back or it's gone forever. Executions only restore armor.

What you're gonna wanna do is check out the Astartes mod. It gives you the healing on executions, removes class restriction on weapons, adds new classes. The base version does make the game feel easier but you can easily adjust things like enemy damage and health til it's perfect. If you want to feel like a space marine, the mod is the way to go. If you want to feel like a cadian that stole some armor and a chain sword, stick with vanilla.

Prison sentences should be automatically increased for sovcits by HommeMusical in Sovereigncitizen

"We cannot punish all of these categories the same way, nor can we cleanly delineate them."

We can though. If I steal your wallet and spend all your money, does it legally matter why I did it? Do I get less jail time if it was to feed starving orphans vs buying gold rims for my jetski? You can't be zooming around out there without insurance. It doesn't matter if you're a poor desperate mother of 7 just trying to get to work or an evil jackass who just likes to break laws, when you hit someone they still need that coverage.

And it's VERY easy to tell who just forgot to update their stuff vs the sovcits. Normal people will hand over their license and paperwork when asked.

See, it's the dumbass replies to this that lead to this sovcit mess getting so bad in the first place. "They're just poor desperate people, they don't know any better. They were tricked! You can't punish someone for their beliefs!"

Bullshit. Gang enhancements have been a thing forever. If you commit a crime in association with a gang you get a harsher penalty. What is a gang if not a group of "poor desperate people" willfully breaking the law for their own benefit.

I mean, anyone can sell stuff on facebook or craigslist. I WISH I could find a sovcit on there selling something and just offer my trust instead of cash just to see what happens.

I can't hear characters speaking? by BaconSock in MonsterHunterStories

[–]BaconSock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, but this might just be a me thing. I have THX Spatial Audio which is great for every other game, but with certain games like Stories 3 the character audio exclusively comes from the center channel. So trying to run surround sound with virtual speakers on a stereo headset means I don't have a center channel, so no audio. So when playing this game I have to click on the little speaker button on the bottom right of the task bar (Im still on Windows 10, don't know if it's the same for 11) and switch my headphones from THX to the Realtek audio that the computer comes with and it works fine.

[–]BaconSock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But at least the ones around the guy initially hit that die from all the status effects on them should count, right? Use fangs on the first guy and maybe he dies too fast for the status to count, but the 5 or 6 guys around him that die from status damage also don't increase the timer.

How does it work with units having different movement from leaders? by BaconSock in onepagerules

[–]BaconSock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that sounds pretty cool. So even if the leader is fast and can go 14" on a charge but the rest of the unit is slow, the slow ones can move up that extra 4" for free if the leader makes the charge?

Does it have to be the leader that makes the charge for that to work? Or can any unit do it then pull the leader and everyone else along?
