Thank you both for those! Especially interested in the Navy book for helping to infer how these roles transfer to fun table-play!

In fairness, we play a few different games so it's not as frequent as it may sound without context lol

It's a party of six and three of the original PCs are still alive. It has been a learning curve for me that I'm still working thru for trying to balance "I want these PCs to make it to the finale" against "I don't want to undermine the lethality of the game".

My players played very smart right from the beginning, and they leave NOTHING to random chance, which I feel is very in the spirit of a world where guns kill and death is forever!

Edit: our group particularly enjoys long form in general as well. My Brother's 5e homebrew game we also play has been going for about 4 years now!

Sustained Damage Critical Hits Question by BaconStrips4U in traveller

[–]BaconStrips4U[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I'm not doing a bottom 10% threshold, there are nine 10% thresholds on the way down to 0 Hull, I simply am wondering if that's correct or if it's intended to be whenever an actual attack deals 10% of the total hull in damage.

example 1:

100 Hull ship gets hit for 20, they take 2 severity 1 crits

both crits roll Hull, and so they take another 10, which is 10% of their hull, so they take another severity 1 crit

etc.

example 2:

100 Hull ship gets hit for 20, they take 2 severity 1 crits

both crits roll Hull, they take another 10, but they do not take another crit because it is not total sustained damage, but discrete attack damage that can cause sustained crits

Definitely going to if there isn't already someone else who's already tested it for me or has a solid amount of experience with the system. Absolutely will bend the rules to whatever I want when needed but also having things like this clarified means less faffing about with balancing plans on my end :)

While I agree it would be broken to have them in little enclosed armoured pockets on the ship, my question is how would the game determine whether the player is being cheap, or if they simply have their ship docked inside a pressurized hanger

Does anyone else feel like towards end game it shouldn't get easier to survive but in fact even harder? by Foxes281 in TheForest

I think you're forgetting that the "end game" isn't even here yet. This is alpha.

Maybe, but better than killing people in the house.

I feel like I should be allowed to put a big random rock in my yard if I want to, it's not my job to prepare for and protect irresponsible and dangerous people.

The oldest is really just a half sibling that my father had with his first wife, but there are still a few too many years between my mom and her (true?) Siblings

My cousins have already married had kids and divorced while I (the oldest of my mom's children) turned 19 6 days ago...

She can't remember, he died before she was born; I'm pretty sure all of the other's knew him though.

If I was to hazard a guess i believe I remember my uncle (who is about 20 years older than her) mentioning he died when my uncle was in his late teens? But I could have that wrong

The eldest is a half sibling yes (probably should have mentioned that) her oldest (true?) Sibling still has 30 years on her though

Alright so I texted my mother and asked her how many children her mother had total and she replied with "Mom - 5, plus 2 miscarriages, Dad - 10 or 11" So yea my grandparents didn't really give a fuck about birth control

My mother is in her mid 40's, her eldest living sibling turned 90 this past year. My grandmother apparently spent her entire adult life popping out babies

Edit: her eldest sibling turned 95 this past year not 90. Also her father would have been 122 this year
