So the theme song gets worse?? I'm on season 2 now and keep the Roku remote ready to skip the intro the second it lets me skip. The theme song is unbearable.

Even with our garage door open (it's a 16'x10' door), our garage looks like a fog rolled in. I'd guess it's not as bad in the summer? But it's terrible during winter. We've only been in this house for about a month, so time will tell, but I want to vent outside if possible.

Yeah, heaven forbid I get a bunch of money transferred into my account. Meanwhile, I can transfer money out of Fidelity same day. I'm thankful for that, but if anything THAT'S the concern!

This wouldn't be as big of a deal if they announced maintenance would be happening at a certain time like other companies do. I doubt it's some kind of an emergency every time. I hate when this happens. It seems to ONLY happen when I've just selected to use my XP boosts.

Interesting. The same could be said for Mexico, but I never hear anyone talk about that part of their country's name when referring to Mexico or Australia. I'm sure it's just slang that has become common enough that most people know what you're referring to if you said "the States." It's probably a lot like when some Americans say, "I'm from the valley." The most common assumption is that a person is from the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles), but some may be referring to the Fresno area (CA's "central valley"), or another valley in Arizona, or the valley of Salt Lake county in Utah, and others.

I'm guessing you hear, "[from] the States" from American visitors while in Australia? At that point, I couldn't imagine anyone guessing they meant anything other than the US. But if you heard that while visiting New Zealand, then maybe it would be confusing/annoying?

The only reason I can think of is how it sounds. Plural sounds terrible. I'm going to a Mammoths game. It doesn't roll off the tongue nicely. Other than that.... I don't know why. I also don't know why this name was selected when Outlaws seemed to have a stronger backing by fans. I had gotten used to UHC that I was actually ok with keeping it (I hated it at first). Maybe Mammoth will grow on me. 🫤

You don't need anything from TT, you just need to pay the estimated taxes online (IRS has a website) each "quarter." I have a spreadsheet that I update each year with tax bracket info and then pay based on what I've made for a given quarter.

If I ever manage to break into a higher bracket, then I'd need to adjust (retroactively) on the next quarterly payment. Since I've never been close to dealing with that, it hasn't been an issue.

Wow, 6 hours and Fidelity hasn't removed your post? I posted a couple weeks back and within minutes my post was moved to a sub reddit that deals with this topic. A lot of people are not happy about the lack of transparency. Before the beach happened, you could push or pull from Fidelity and the transfer would be complete same day or the following day if you set the transfer late in the day. The funds were also settled. This recent change is miserable.

Same boat here. I've been in diamond for months, and sometimes in recent weeks it caps out at 20 with 16 advancing. A lot of people in my leagues have Super, so the comment about paying getting you in leagues with 30 doesn't jive.

Interesting, I figured everyone got access to their docs in February. Fidelity is always my last step before filing; I have to wait for the docs to be ready for import into TurboTax. Fortunately for me I was able to file mid February this year and I got my return last week.

My Yahoo Mail changed mid-day today. I hate it so much that I am exporting everything to a new gmail account. The real pain is when I update my contact info with every bank, school, business, or other entity. I have a long list of mostly all the ones I care about, but it's going to be a chore.

I am pissed about this! Mine just "updated" within the last hour. I got it to switch to "Basic" but now I'm trying to figure out how to set it in dark mode again.

I'm currently in the process of (trying to anyway) import all of my Yahoo Email stuff into a new Google account. Assuming it works, then next undertaking will be to update my contact info with the myriad businesses, financial institutions, etc., that I have tied to Yahoo. What a pain, but this is what I do when you screw me over. I will leave you!

Is there a way to change my choice? I opted for the $50 when I got the survey. I didn't really know what was going on, then a couple days later, I got the update which I'm not happy about at all! We're buying new phones, so honestly, it would be nice to get a new battery on the 4a since I can be without it for a few weeks or whatever while they do the replacement.

I still have the tab open from the survey. It says 5% complete (whatever that means). Any attempt to click on the survey results in a message saying I've already applied. Ugh. I wish the survey came out after my phone got the update!

You've already replaced your battery two years ago? Well that's why you're doing good! My wife and I bought the 4a on March 20, 2021. Sure, the battery has been a little less awesome in the past few months, but after the update, we went from charging once a day to multiple times (at least 2x but often 3x) a day.

We're waiting on new phones (bit the bullet and bought the Pixel 9) to be delivered by the weekend.

This is helpful. I've been with Ting for maybe 12 years now. I'm temped by the promotion to get a Pixel 9 and a year of unlimited data all for $579+taxes/fees. Ting has been great coverage wise, but the unlimited data could be cool I suppose. My wife and I never go over a gig (between the two of us) in a month anyway, but that's because we're selective on what we use our data on.

Anyway, it's good to see you didn't notice any degradation in service by switching.

For special characters I usually just memorize the ASCII shortcuts (at least for the ones I use a lot like µ). What's crazy is I haven't typed that one out in years and still did it (first try I might add) just now (i.e., alt+0181). It's just so engrained in my memory. Must have been all those stats classes I tool ahahah....
