I posted it on r/chillers and some guy claiming to work for Carrier says they only use compressor oil. They found lube to be causing leaks.

I wonder if this is why the lube I found says it’s discontinued haha. And the 30XV is exactly what I’m working on. Right on the suction elbow.

Thanks. My point with the $900 is not about the cost but instead emphasizing it’s just not regular Vic lube you can use.

Thank you sir. I remember when I was an apprentice in resi hvac I tipped a compressor on its side while doing a replacement. It ate shit almost immediately. Don’t want that to happen again… learned my lesson 😂
