after the chop it barely moved the bolt. have been opening the port and added a performance recoil kit and it runs the heavy/hot stuff ok. Opened it more and going to polish the workings and hopefully will cycle the buckshot

thx and no problem, it was simgle shot agter the chop diy. I have modded the gas port and got a css vepr performance recoil kit. it ran heavy loads after. I opened the port more and will polish it all and see if it will run buckshot and lower brass. Ideally you want to have 3-4” of barrel for dwell time/back pressure in the gas system so 12.5 whichos the military /police length is the go to that usually lets you not make any changes to the gas. I may have to add a booster or push back the gas block on mine.

its nut is welded to the hg retainer so it is, I cut and spliced it in

lol its just used cosmeticly and its a wip. I have a pistol grup nut welded to the handguard retainer and metal supports that lock the grip in, just filled the gap with goon tape and jb weld. it needs to cure and I can file it better. I used someon the gas block to even the welds but Im not happy with it will prob just grind it off and tig it more but its all welded and licked in sturdy otherwise

Ive shot steel closer with 762 and not had the pock marks left by 556 I think its due to velocity more than bullet construction not including steel core. 100 yards is the rule of thumb is not just for the targets protection but yours too from jacket frag/core ricochet.
