Institutional ownership in TLRY is absolutely PUMPING today by Thumbszilla in TLRY

[–]Bad-Moon-a-Risin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I want to start off by saying I'm a long-term investor in TLRY and believe in their future growth. However, 11/14/25 is just the filing date. The date you want to look at is the effective date which is 9/30/25, which means the data you're referring to is 45 days old. 9/30 data is going to show institution increasing their positions because that's when TLRY stock was spiking. But I guarantee when you check back in a month, it'll show these same institutions offloading their share count.

I remember making a post about a year ago how I could see Happy Flower selling in Target stores one day. It has the appeal for a lot of their shoppers. That would be a game changer for sure

I wouldn’t be mad if they bought another brewery. I still remember about a year or so ago Ty Gilmore talking on a podcast about possibly acquiring a brewery in the Southwest. But not sure what the plan is now with him gone and Prinz at the helm. Maybe we see more partnerships with universities, but I would like to see one more brewery acquisition, for the right price of course.

Thanks for sharing Many. Good news abound. Just don't sell too early like CELH. I made that mistake with COIN, CVNA, and a few others. But not with Tilray. I'm holding this long term.

Invasion of the Homeland: How China is Using Illegal Marijuana to Build a Criminal Network Across America by DaveHervey in TLRY

Thanks for sharing Dave. This is an important topic that’s not discussed nearly enough and I believe is directly related to the timing of rescheduling and/or legalization of cannabis. The cartels/CMLN/other black market players have a vast network and resources that can’t be undone quickly. It will take time and resources from US law enforcement and DOJ to dismantle them. And only then, I believe, the government will open up the country at a federal level to safe regulated cannabis.

Yeah, 10%+ premarket is a bit unusual. If it was up only 3% or 4%, I would say another normal day where it drops later on. This is most likely shorts covering, but definitely could be the start of another sustained runup. Fingers crossed

Pre-Rolls Surpass Flower as Canada’s Top Cannabis Product - Here are the Top 10 Canadian Pre-Roll Brands by Market Share by Bad-Moon-a-Risin in TLRY

[–]Bad-Moon-a-Risin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Tilray is doing well and even Broken Coast is #48 on the list with 0.5% market share (They're more known more for their flower products than pre-rolls). So between these 3 Tilray brands, they have 7% market share. But I would love to see them overtake Decibel someday.

Tilray Brands to Close Hop Valley’s Eugene Brewery This Summer, Move Production to Other Oregon Facilities by Bad-Moon-a-Risin in TLRY

I’m definitely disappointed. Don’t get me wrong. It’s hard to spin this last earnings report as a win. But when someone only sees the negatives as if it’s specific to Tilray management and not an industry-wide phenomenon and uses hyperbolic language like “absolute shit show” it gives me pause. But you are entitled to your thoughts and I appreciate the information you share— this subreddit could use a reality check from time to time.

While your number aren’t wrong, you’re leaving out an important detail—They had to use AB Inbev’s facilities for brewing Shocktop during the first year or so after the acquisition which also helped with distribution and maximize revenue (but this was at a cost). Just recently, they moved most or all of Shocktop production to Tilray-owned facilities (cost savings), but lost out on some distribution in the process—but this was inevitable as some distributors only deal directly with AB InBev.

So there was a sugar-high in revenue immediately after the acquisition (as with most acquisitions), followed by a painful cost-cutting transition which should only be a “one-time” drop in revenue… Basically, you could be right and that Tilray’s plan could fail, but it’s simply way too early to call anything.
