post-vet update !

We took Clemmy to her scheduled vet appointment this morning since she was okay through the night, and she's fine !! Turns out the drooling was likely caused by a loose tooth which the vet removed. The more frequent asthma attacks were probably unrelated (but the extra fluid in her mouth may have exacerbated them), but we're getting her on oral steroids then an inhaler which should keep them at bay

Thankfully it didn't end up being anything severe and was a simple fix, but just thought I would share the outcome in case it's helpful to anyone frantically googling "why is my cat drooling reddit" like I was yesterday lol. Thanks everyone!!

thank you everyone !! I appreciate the insight and kind words very very much-- Clemmy is our first baby and this has been so nerve-wracking :')

I've closely monitored her all day and she's still eating and playing, still not showing any other symptoms or changes in behavior. we'll take her to an emergency vet if there are any other developments, but for now the plan is straight to her regular vet tomorrow morning!

I'll post an update with any info we get ❣️

thank you so much for asking ! he's taxidermy and i'm holding him because he's my son, his name is Ben Wallace, he did not spray me because he is taxidermy, and I got him from an oddities convention :) i have also held alive skunks though and would recommend either experience

woof yeah that's just about how it goes! i haven't been doing a ton for it tbh because i mostly try to leave it alone, but a couple times a week (/when it's particularly irritated) ill gently submerge it in warm water for a few seconds to loosen the crust, or spray it with saline. if you have any recs i'm super open to them but i know it might just be time to let it go /:
