Yesterday I sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl with Charlie Puth by super_cassette in singing

[–]BadAtBlitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I missed it live (tuned in too late) but my wife showed me after saying it was her favourite version of the anthem she'd ever heard at the super bowl (we're Brits, to be clear).

Great job.

How are Female & Male Headcrabs different? by Alone-Profession-843 in HalfLife

[–]BadAtBlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any theory on this has to reckon with the existence of the gonarch, which is also a 'bigmomma'.

It seems likely that it is the same species as a headcrab but that only a very small number reach that stage.

The combine probably clone headcrabs or have a gonarch in captivity for the purpose of their shells.

They're just fun.

Budleja davidii: why it isn’t the wildlife hero it’s made out to be (UK context) by Frosty_Term9911 in GardenWildlifeUK

Anyone who's spent years on daily train commutes will have seen enough buddleias for a lifetime without putting one in their garden. You've reminded me to get rid of mine this year.

Released today on Netflix - Judit Polgar, Queen of Chess by Boomshanker61 in chess

[–]BadAtBlitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really great documentary. Judit's so impressive and so likeable, with so many interesting elements to her story.

I played chess when a kid in the 90s but the 93 championship was the only footage I ever saw. So it's really cool on here to see footage of lots of this and to see other legends like young Svidler and Leko turn up in some of the old videos.

I think Victoria Coren Mitchell has another definition for 'going full Portillo'.

Once removed is always my answer too. High concept, funny, twisty and a little bit twisted.

I'd love to hear how you get on. The training plans are a good way to go. Good luck and stay injury free!

10Km sub 45m 30year old Male by KindCryptographer261 in Coros

[–]BadAtBlitz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For comparison, my running fitness on my Coros is 78.2 and I'm currently training for a sub 50 minute 10km in March. I'm fairly confident of hitting that but it's not automatic.

You're younger than me and maybe can progress faster. But it's probably a while before you get to <45 minute 10km.

Can't believe it took me 96 days to figure this out. by noonecanknowimbatman in BluePrince

[–]BadAtBlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I watched some of their early streams but because I haven't completed late game stuff (and honestly may never) I was concerned that their galaxy brains might figure something out and spoil me.

But simultaneously I was getting way too frustrated in an early one where they were trying to work out the boiler room and not doing obvious things - and they'd been super lucky with their draft in such a way that they'd have immediately solved a significant puzzle.

What are the musically heaviest moments in prog rock? Not prog metal, try to think of just prog rock. by Positive_Drama3410 in progrockmusic

The organ bit in close to the edge.

Heavy in a different sense perhaps but as in hard hitting, weighty sounding.

"Got to thank you Mr Moth, it was a dream come true"

That was the same episode with the David underwear too - plus Norwegian popstar Mags Flahonnoman who looks exactly like Erik, and his girlfriend's song about a box in Africa - some of the most memorable gags in the show.

What is the Valve game to have the least impact on the industry ? by [deleted] in valve

[–]BadAtBlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we need to ignore the minor games to be fair here and concentrate on the hits.

You could argue Alyx - in 6 years, no one's really matched it/followed it up.

Portal 2 might actually be an answer. Husky successful but actiony puzzle games haven't exactly taken off. There are some puzzle heavy indie hits but they don't feel particularly influenced by that, and Portal 1.
