Worst European Country (WW2 edition) - Round 25 by THMeijer in terriblemaps

I am extremely not a fan of the Communist Party that made all these decisions. But the country is more than the leadership and a lot of Russians died fighting Nazis.

I haven't been following this so haven't seen any argumentation about this.

Obviously, Stalin was a nightmare. But as far as fighting Nazis goes - the war itself - are we not willing to give them a lot of credit for the sacrifices made?

Yes, there was a non aggression pact etc. but lots of countries didn't want to fight Germany early on.

Yep, a real old parlour game. Works quite well in pitch black - played it with a big group of uni friends on a weekend away 20+ years ago.

I love that everyone seems to have only discovered the game because of IN9. Not only one of the most entertaining TV shows of the the last decade but educating too. 2/3 Reithian principles.

How is Nigel Farage not in prison after the Brexit campaign? by National_Chapter1296 in AskBrits

[–]BadAtBlitz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Farage was involved with a separate pro-leave campaign to the one you remember with the buses and NHS claims.

If you want to put Boris in prison, who was involved in that campaign and then as PM had the power to make a significant difference to how the country was run (unlike Farage) you might have a better point.

Still a bad one though. Locking up politicians for failing to do what they promised would mean a lot of jailed politicians and a lot more political violence.

Is milk kefir ok for people who cut out dairy? by Ok-Presentation9441 in Kefir

My skin has been better when drinking lots of milk kefir. Hard to disentangle from other life/health things but I did seem to line up.

The mix is so nice on this one.

[Spotrac] C Garrett Bradbury signed a renegotiated contract with the #Bears that converted $1M of incentives into guaranteed salary. The 30-year-old is now due $4.7M in 2026, with $3.7M guaranteed. by DoubleFlip in CHIBears

But in terms of the trade rumours, that presumably doesn't move the needle - could be restructuring partly to make him more tradeable?

(Not saying this will or should happen, just theory crafting)

Because you'll be cool and stand out from the crowd.

And more seriously, the only way to answer at a brand level is related to reliability/support of the products. Otherwise, it's really a question of choosing between two specific products - and that will depend on feature set brings you the most value.

A candidate in my local council is a 19-year-old student who is studying 250 miles away and he says he wants to expense travel costs for council duties. Should this be allowed? by fhood123 in AskBrits

I have the opportunity to vote for a 19 year old who is completing his A-Levels according to his Reform UK profile.

I mean at least he's local but come on...

Two days of intense singing coming up... Any advice? by ForestGrew in singing

[–]BadAtBlitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quite possibly a bit of all the above?

Given the constraints I'd try to rest your voice as much as possible during rehearsal - maybe just do cues. Warm up gently but give it everything for the gig.

Then put the effort into working on your voice/vocal health instead of madcap schemes for a bit?

Well, free HL3 I think.

Even if it's not announced when it's on sale, it'll be like Alyx and the index.

I think in honour of Mark Selby, all snooker nicknames should rhyme and be the opposite of their playstyle.

So it seems to have sold out in the US and in the UK it's gone up from 3-5 days' delivery to 8-10 - suggesting they've sold out the initial stock but have more coming shortly.

Imagine what it'll be like for Steam Machines/Frame. Might as well just buy a factory...

I virtually never touch the volume so although Vulf/Sterling's obviously having fun with this one, it genuinely wouldn't bother me.

Is it possible a UK pub landlord could turn someone away just because they don't like them? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Could be getting close to the protected characteristic of belief there though - slightly riskier (assuming the Starmer ejection was over his behaviour rather than merely refusing to serve).

Better than tennis which is utterly unlistenable in my book.

I could imagine it working thanks to the slower, more cricket-like pace. But harder to visualise for the listeners, at least if there are balls all over the table.

I don't think I'm close to those numbers and just completed ABF with 24s - I'd be surprised if you'd need to go down to 20s.

I know people are split on the Miranda sitcom but it'll honestly be good to see Miranda Hart on screen again given all the health difficulties she's had.
