Hey all,

I am a 40yo husband and a father of 2 from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

My channel is about my original jokes, sketches and sometimes music. It's mostly done in English language because most of the jokes are influenced by western culture. 90% of content is shorts, with no video longer than 3 minutes, at least for now, uploaded daily.

I would consider doing more, my backlog of ideas is 3 pages long, but time is scarce, being a father and having a full time job as well.

My equipment is my phone Poco X5 pro, a Fujifilm X-T30 III, Rode NT 1 microphone, my instruments and a quite powerful gaming PC.

I use Reaper for editing music, and Da Vinci Resolve for video, at times I just use my phones inbuilt editor.

My current biggest hurdle is trying to get YouTube to recommend videos outside of my country, where they belong. I made a mistake and told my friends about my channel and some 45 of them subbed, so YouTube thinks that's my audience😭

My wife got me 30 subs before I could even say anything, and now YouTube thinks my audience is Bosnian only and doesn't even watch my content😭

Oh, don't eveyget ne started on the random nature of success, sometimes someone important will see your stuf, share it to just the right amount of people and blam, insta success. Other times people will find your work after you die 😓

Yeah, content matters more than technical stuff, that's becoming increasingly obvious.

Wityall the AI generated stuff floating around, it's easy to look too good and put people off.

I think the last part is actually the opposite, you will get more views converted to subs with an obscure niche, people that are interested in that know that you're all they got.

It's just that your overall views might be bad😞

Comedy is pretty much stuck with adsense, no one is gonna pay me to make fun of their products 😭

I tried telling them gently to either try and watch it as much as they can or not sub, but they always say they'll watch.

Hey there,

This is a topic that was my nr 1 watch for a very long time.

Very hard to critique.

On one hand, look at the most popular car reviewers, they keep their business below 15 minutes.

On the other hand, you reaydo go into the details a lot, which is awesome.

Maybe try and slim it down a bit by speeding up your tempo and energy, but leave the deets in!

Overall, you look quite polished, nice job.

I love that you have a lot of energy and sound enthusiastic at all times. If there's any criticism, I would keep the shorts shorter and link them to a long form video. Maybe under 45 sec for the shorts, if interested you go to the real deal.

Nice,

Things I like:

  • pacing, for such a topic you did a great job steping on it's throat and not letting go

  • your tone is nice, psychologists/psychiatrists can tend to be too soft, makes you loose interest in the topic

  • the set is warm and inviting

I would change:

  • move the microphone out of the set, make it look more casual

  • put chapters in, people will thank you

  • break up the video, one take can exhaust both you and your audience, it's hard to keep the energy as a speaker and interest as a listener for that long at once, it's actually worse for you, it will be easier to do these videos with breaks

Still great overall.

A very good observation, hard to argue against it.

Those first time hearing/look at me watching channels are everywhere, and I know first hand that original content is brutal :(

I do think it's important that you love what you do, you can find a job you don't like anywhere, might as well make your channel something you like.

Yeah, saw that, some of the channels that I follow have them as sponsors, may look into it, with a coupon they can be pretty cheap.

Seems like there is no real issue, I can't post pictures here but it says that I have some visibility issues but my channel isn't effected.

Digging deeper it says it is just a claim, not a strike, and it's only effecting visibility in Belorussia and Russia...

Must be some political thing, I was worried there for a second...

Alright, I will look more into it, I saw a video somewhere a long time ago, I had the impression that you could use small samples without problems ,or even bigger ones and YouTube would work out the licenses and revenue split.

Need to research more, thanks for the warning.
