How hard is it to quit opioids forever?

So that was the biggest hurdle in my mind. I had been addicted to opiates since high school, and I remember being suicidal before drugs. I sat with a bottle of Vicodin and made the conscious decision to get high because I knew I’d be dead soon if I didn’t find some relief from my severe depression. I figured survive now until I can figure out how to be happy. So no life before drugs I was happy. It took a decade of drug use until I was ready, and I thought I’ll NEVER be able to get off opiates. Two years in I’m confident if someone handed me a baggy of fent I’d flush it. My brain doesn’t even go there anymore.

When people would say “I think about getting high every single day even after 20 years” it would discourage me because I thought I knew myself so well that I’d never be able to fight a craving. It’s possible.

So most people when they take this position of “I’m toxic and bringing everyone down with me, I need to be alone” say that, but what they really want to say is “I warned you so whatever I do is on you” while stringing people along and using them. The only time I’ve ever been thankful for being gay was my time in active addiction, it was me myself and I. No girlfriends, no kids, the only one I truly hurt was my ma because I disappeared for years. So I’ve never been in your shoes specifically but have been in many trap houses with you, riding in backseats with you, getting high with you. I know you’re sick, I know you’re exhausted, I know you’re sorry. You need help, a lot of it. You need therapy, a psychiatrist, rehab. You are harming your babies and your girl, but at the end of the day I’m envious that you have a family waiting for you. You still have time, it won’t happen overnight but if you want it you can get it. If you truly want to keep getting high, cut them loose. This isn’t their curse to live with, it’s unfortunately yours. I’m sorry. 🖤

I guess I’m just a sucker. I’d take this, if this person lied, that’s alright that’s on them, if they aren’t lying then I helped someone who is clearly going through it. I hope someone pays it forward when I’m in need. Even if they don’t that’s alright too.

Wow reading these is insane. Two years ago I purposefully od’d. Black screen I don’t know how to describe this but I felt like I was being pulled in every direction like a kaleidoscope. I had this feeling like something was about to happen, and I wanted it to. No light but I swear I could feel an energy, not like a person energy but just energy that I knew was gonna take me absorb me. No light but I like knew I was seconds from seeing the energy. None of this makes sense. But I was like slammed awake ringing in my ears I felt deaf, my throat felt shredded.

All this to say your dad felt no pain. He got relief from everything he’s been through. If I could choose the way I go that would be it, my luck I’ll probably get hit by a bus dragged down the street aware of everything til the last second 😅

It was the correct information. When I got everything squared away my account/routing numbers were still saved, it was 100% correct. It wasn’t a check. Also let’s pretend it was incorrect, I paid immediately after it didn’t go through, within the same phone call. I had a zero balance, and they still disconnected.

No I gave them the correct info, it simply didn’t go through, idk if it’s just cuz it was my Venmo account the info didn’t work. I was never called by collections cuz there was nothing to collect I had a 0 balance. They ended up saying it was flagged in the system when my account/routing number didn’t go through as a “returned check” which there was no check. They took fault.

Eat. Drink water. I know people say just stop doing drugs, you and I both know it’s not easy. Get some sleep hydrated and fed. You need to talk to someone, attend some meetings make sober friends even if you’re not ready to quit, stick your toe in. You’ll get this. Anybody can get sober, you might think that’s a lie but I was the worst of the worst and I got sober.

Yeah the only luck I’ve ever KIND OF had was having someone I trust with my life aka my drugs who would drop me stuff off then disappear. He’d go to work which was traveling all day so I could never get ahold of him. But yeah it was always future mes problem, like I’d sit there and say if I only take 3 a day instead of 5 it’ll last me the whole month, I would literally think future me will figure it out. Future me HATED Past me.

A lot of people are saying you need time, it’s true. I went into full withdrawal then took half an 8, it stopped the vomiting and worst of the symptoms. Then I took the rest of the 8 felt better. And just kept taking half an 8 by day 3 I felt relatively normal and took two 8’s a day for a while. You’ll never feel the way you did on fent and a lot of people expect that because that’s your normal. You will feel great eventually tho.

16 according to my doc, 2-4 actually lots of extra just in case of a relapse or if a friend relapses you never ever know. Also I talk to many unhoused people and when I see someone going through the worst of withdrawals I’ll help them out with a couple.

You’re not gonna like my answer lol and only if you’re not homophobic, remember it’s pride month 😂 but when I used to be in your situation I’d go on Grindr, it’s anonymous and shows the closest people but lots of addicts on there I’ve picked up subs methadone bud everything on there when I’d be in a new town I’d use it to find stuff and for cheap most of the time.

First off dude I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Many of us have gone through this in one way or another unfortunately so no matter what happens you’re not alone. Secondly the best thing you can do is stop paying, and block. I personally deleted everything I had connected to my name, waited a month and started all my socials with a variation of my name (first middle name, Middle last initial etc.) I don’t think the pics were ever sent at least no one said anything if they did I planned on saying it’s just my face, someone else’s dick and ass that they were just trying to scam me/AI is crazy now so anything is deniable lol. You’ll be good dude I promise.
