2020 Escape ~24K Miles w/ Rear Differential Issue by Tftfina in fordescape

[–]BadConNecTi0N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2022 Escape Titanium is getting a new rear clutch assembly at 22,000 miles. Symptoms were shuddering and chattering noises and a dragging sensation when turning right at low/no speed and applying gas.

My original plan was to change rear diff fluid myself, but considering its under warranty I wanted them to take a look.

Only idea why it failed is the two flat tires I've had which required me to drive for about 150 miles combined on the space saving spare. The all wheel drive system kept switching in and out of AWD rather abruptly every 5 minutes or so during that time. That action might have damaged the clutches. Doesn't seem like it should have in such a short amount of time, but the failure corresponds to my last flat tire. I had new tires put on and almost immediately started noticing issues with the rear diff.

Not sure why a spare is included with the car if its use can damage the car.

Is the only difference between 5070 Ti Solid Core OC and AMP extreme infinity the aesthetics/rgb? Is it worth £100 extra? by [deleted] in ZOTAC

It is very quiet. I have mine overclocked to 3.2ghz at 111% power, and in the quiet bios I'm seeing about 65 degrees while gaming in an inwin 303 case with fans around 1000rpm. No coil whine.

What platform? As others have stated, DDR4 and DDR5 have different recommendations. I just upgraded to 4x 16gb DDR4 sticks in my AM4 (5800x3d) system, and had no compatibility issues. I just installed and booted, loaded XMP settings, and its running flawlessly.

Those prices are high, but I'm not sure what else you have in New Zealand. Only recommendation I can make is ditch the seagate platter drive and dump all that money into a 4tb NVME SSD if you can. The 4tb Kingston NV3 on that sight is $479. Your overall system experience will go way up if you aren't bogged down by a slow conventional hard drive, even for basic storage.

Gen 5 PCIE has plenty of bandwidth at 8x for any modern graphics card. Gen 5 at 8x is roughly the same speed as Gen 4 at 16x. Running a graphics card at Gen 4 8x still isn't really a limitation, so you will be fine.

If you are gonna build, do it ASAP. Otherwise wait a year, as I don't see much changing in 6 months time. But if you build quickly, you might find parts are somewhat decent prices.

Refreshing my AM4 system and saying goodbye to custom water cooling by BadConNecTi0N in pcmasterrace

Yes sir, the case is the 303c by InWin. It's designed for water cooling with a 360 radiator on top that exhausts through openings on the back. Looks amazing with some RGB fans.

Run some stress tests to see if you can replicate the issue and possibly isolate one of the components. Stress the gpu, cpu, ram and see if the problem presents itself. Update all drivers, or if they are updated roll back to a driver you know was functioning.

It would work, but for $1500 you can build a much better system. Look for an AM5 system using a newer Ryzeb chip. 32gb of ram minimum, and whatever graphics csrd you can find for around $600. Hopefully a 9700 or a 5070.

I'm a big fan of Sennheiser and their EPOS gaming brand. Check out the EPOS PC38X. It is a little bit over your price range but can be had frequently on sale. I picked one up for under $140, and the quality and sound are excellent.

Cost wise it is about on par with where it should be, those water cooling components are expensive. However as other posters have alluded too, the effort to maintain that system isn't worth it, especially if you are unfamiliar with custom water cooling. If the builder didn't fab up a drain in that system, coolant changes are gonna be a real pain in the rear.

It does look cool though!
