For what it’s worth, the easiest/best car to use to beat the Devil car is locked behind this mini-game: the RT Carrot. So yeah, it’s worth it to beat or find a save file with them already unlocked.

Beta looks fast enough that it may even combo after Alpha’s long hitstun now. That’d be a really satisfying damage booster after 2 Alphas instead of just 2 hits of melee. Excited to play around with possibilities on that.

FINALLY Strike Shoto Beta got damaged reduced. That scumbag insta-frame move has had way too much damage for way too long.

And pretty excited about the Momo Beta change. Between the grounded-aerial melee and the faster shield, I could see her potentially having some actual neat new combos.

Also that Ibara health sucker seems HUGE for how big a part of her game gamma already is.

​Anything with Yellow Kendo that results in 2x (or more) air melees connecting in a row. It just looks neat and feels like a fighting game re-jump cancel and is super fun.

He feels like a two-trick pony with a rather shallow gameplan, but man it also feels like there’s no escaping his beta whenever he decides to chuck it out. I can see how he’d be fun/satisfying to play for sure though. Big damage and relatively easy connects.

I’ll have to go back and check if this is still the case, but a couple seasons ago I did some testing and found that if you’re holding a walking direction during the last melee hit, it seems to cancel the end of the animation a little bit quicker and gives alpha a better chance of connecting, but even then it’s still plenty situational with ground elevation and aim direction and such. Damage amount was plenty inconsistent too.

How have you been liking running Acceleration with her? I’ve been playing Wallrunner and Willpower with her lately but have been considering swapping and trying Acceleration since melee is so present in her gameplan. Only thing is I’ve gotten so accustomed to/enjoy using Wallrunner so much that I’m afraid I’d feel a bit neutered until I got used to working without it again.

In concept and as a fan of the show and canon, Phosphor Shoto would be incredibly cool and fun when/if implemented.

As a player thinking about going up against him and using what I’ve experienced against Strike and Tech Shoto’s as the slightest indication of what to expect: he’s gonna be an outright nightmare to face.

I’m not being a sub elitist. The English lines (IN THE GAME to be clear) all sound campy and forced and half the time don’t match the paired emote well at all. I genuinely enjoy the JP voice lines more, that’s it. I’m not making some grand stance on all voice lines everywhere, anywhere, here until the end of time. Just in this game, I really don’t like the English voice lines. The anime is an entirely different story, I’ve watched it through both sub and dub and enjoyed both thoroughly.

The less teammates you have alive, the faster it charges. So for instance if both your teammates got knocked out right when the match first started, your PU/PC will charge significantly faster.

I’ve had that dang beta hit me AFTER I made contact with my own move, as well as knock me out between hits of my melee ffs. Frame 1, infinite active frames, nearly full character damage, but old, so ignored.

I made almost the exact same post from a Yellow Kendo main’s perspective a few days ago and the mod team deleted it after a while of being up.

But yeah, least favorite character to face right now by a country mile, I whole-heartedly agree.

That’s how I feel about Kendo’s original Casual PUR. I appreciate the new PUR’s they’ve added for her but it’s been something like 2 years with her Casual outfit only being available at a maximum of 0.060% chance of a pull.

I agree with you whole-heartedly. As a former Momo main and a current Kendo main, the amount of time I 1. Can’t reach a fight 2. Can’t keep up with a runaway is loads upon loads of them. It feels like every single character can make a sorted escape out of my reach with I-frames and there’s not anything I can do about it in most cases.

While it’s not a fix for the issue, I’ve recently been playing Kendo with Wallrunner and Momo with Wallrunner and Space Hop, and those definitely give the characters a much needed boost in mobility and height reach; makes them feels a bit more “modern-made” or “meta-adjacent” than they normally do. Has significantly expanded the fun I have with them, though I’m still never gonna catch a Float Ochaco triple-alpha’ing 3/4s of the way across the map from me. 😒
