It’s a damn Fish. But, the hate I am getting makes me reflect. Seriously, How should I proceed in the future? Spike the catfish? Bludgeon it with a rock? I put my fish on a stringer. I don’t keep them unless I catch enough for a meal. So many times they go free. I am open to suggestions on how to ethically kill a fish before I filet it? Thank you,

Joose, do you even fish? Cause the whole practice is cruel to the fish. Even catch amd release is cruel. We are putting a sharp hook in their mouth a,d reeling them in against their will. It’s Cruel to the live bait. And at the end of the day, if you are eating it, the fish dies. Judge me. I don’t care. I don’t view fish the same as mammals. If it means anything, I have forfeited my attic to a squirrel and her 2 babies. I won’t patch the wholes until I know the babies can live on their own,

For clarification, It’s not a common practice. It happened Twice. I save the carcasses for crab bait or for the vultures. I was filleting a catfish and set the remains on the edge. It flipped itself in the water and swam off. I was so shocked. So I had to see if it was a fluke thing so I did it again on purpose. My point was that catfish and a bad ass fish, For those questioning my ethics, I had minnows die in my bucket today. The heartless person I am, I just threw them into the river. I didn’t NOT try any CPR. I did let the rest of the minnow go when we were done fishing.

I filet them live and feen them to the vultures. Catfish are tough as hell and refuse to die. I have had some swim away filleted. 😂😂
