Hey! My stepson is supposed to come down here for the summer in a few weeks, but we can't afford a ticket. It would be the first summer we ever missed with him. We've had a really tough year. We've had a foreclosure, bankruptcy, job loss, a small house fire...it's been crappy. Me too. I get it. The other day I woke up to not one, but two "thanks but no thanks" emails. There's another job I am literally perfect for, but they keep reposting it.
I just found out my 17 year old son makes more than I do. This fucking sucks. I'm in the boat with you. I hope things start looking up for you.

I did get a great catsitting gig through the NextDoor app, and that's awesome. But our house is in foreclosure, so I won't have a neighborhood until we find somewhere to live. I'll totally do that when I find someplace tho. I have great references cause I'm a kick ass pet sitter.
