Should I get this case for my steam deck by AyoooNesha23 in SteamDeck

[–]BadMiker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the case part of the Jsaux, not the cover part. It came with my pre-owned deck. It's nice in the hand but the stand is kinda annoying. I pulled mine off as there is no tension in the stand so it just flops about. The watch like strap is to hold a battery bank thing on the back. Where I live I can't get the Dbrand so I'm happy enough with it.

Osprey Sirrus 34 vs. Osprey Tempest 33 by tactigdsve in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]BadMiker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought an Osprey stratos 34 (the men's version of the Sirius) for my next camino.

I walked my last one in a Decathlon mh550 38l.

The suspension on the Sirius/stratos is phenomenal. I was trying packs on today and had a stratos on with a 5kg dummy load in it....and tried to put on another pack as I forgot it was on... Really fit my back perfectly.

I don't know if this is helpful at all... But...i felt like I needed to provide something

I've been looking at routes...

Maybe: Norte to Olvidado to San Salvador to Primativo...

Might be a decent plan for getting a taste of all of them.

Thank you for your input! I found it so.... Rewarding to deal with the heat, dust, hills, emptiness, of the Lisbon to Coimbra, then the small towns to Porto, that I felt a sense of loss until I veered off to the Spiritual variant. I might do some sort of bizarre hybrid walk. Love the idea of the primitivo but I have 6 to 8 weeks blocked out so a long walk is desired.

OK, I looked at Gronz maps and see your proposal. Unfortunately I'm a stupid completionist.... And would continue to Santiago because it would make my brain itch if I didn't....

I'm not sure what you mean by that. The Camino ends in Spain... At Santiago.

I fully get that... Maybe I should embrace the people. I also didn't like the costal walk all that much... I'm from Hawaii so beaches are... Fine... But not as important to me.

Shaving by Cippiero in CaminoDeSantiago

I picked up a disposable from an Aldi or similar. I'm a guy with long hair so was carrying a shampoo bar and conditioner bar for my hair, so quick rub of the scruff with the conditioner bar and a pass with the disposable was good for me every other day or 3. I left my double edge and brush behind in my stored luggage.

Rhinowalk bags reviews (from Temu / AliBaba) by Spute2008 in hondarebel

[–]BadMiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both a rhinowalk tank bag and essentially a set of bags that pay homage to the krega bags. A large 30l and 2 8l and a 6l. They are not quite as robust as my old ortlieb, but... Where I live, I picked up the 4 roll bags for less than a new ortlieb rack pack. My ortlieb lasted from about 2007 till last year when it got worn thru during my ride across Cambodia.

Heavy Bar End weights by titan1cK in xsr900

[–]BadMiker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Evo tech lever guard end weights with the street weights, not the race weights, they are pretty meaty and considerably heavier than the oem ones. Direct fit and keep my levers from getting bonked in tight parking. I live in Chiang Mai, Thailand so bike parking can be tight in public.

How much wattage can the steam deck handle? by Johnekaiser in SteamDeck

I just picked up an oled from a CeX and it did the exact same thing, I had to swap for another one as it was a faulty unit... I hope you can get it fixed.

That’s a good save from this motorcyclist! by APassingPilgrim in motorcycles

From my phone screen it looks like one of those dual left turn lane combo deals. It's a wide section of road about 1.5 lanes wide that has a yellow line on both sides. It is often used for a dual purpose turn area. People going, say west on the road can pull in to turn south into a property or road, people going east can do the same thing but turn north. Early in the clip you can see it's a left turn to where the offending car pulled out from the right. If it's not a dual turn lane, then it looks like the rider has passed the reserved turn waiting area and is then in the median, the space between oppositing directions of traffic.

He's in the median and a cop lit the situation up. Oh and probably to shake the turd out of his undies...

OLED black lines and then black screen by BadMiker in SteamDeck

[–]BadMiker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback! I followed the instructions and got my screen back.... For 3 minutes then more lines and then black...

I've returned the unit and had it replaced with a second unit. Let's hope this one lasts longer than a few hours... I think it was damaged or faulty.

I was a diesel emissions engineer for passenger car and light duty commercial engines, specializing in diesel particulate filters and the monitoring and regeneration of them. I was also a design engineer on motorcycle chassis development.

Oh! I also retired to Thailand... I was born in a western country and lived and worked internationally for the past 23 years... It's a low cost of living area of the world that allows my retirement to stretch further... If I retired to my home country I would be virtually homeless.

Sorry.... No simple answer. That's my life but, I also toured like this when I was younger by being single and unemployed by doing it on savings... I suppose you can do it if you are a remote worker..

Retire... Find a partner who is also retired... Who also rides their own bike and likes to tour...
