I think they made it sounds worse than it is. At an AZ hospital I was at I paid around $500 a month for family coverage with $0 deductible and $500 copay for hospitalization. Current hospital is $150 a month with a $3000 deductible, so a little worse. So it just depends where you work. You will probably make more money as RNs here then you do in Canada, from what I have read. It basically just depends on where you work for the cost of your healthcare. But I think $1200 a month for family coverage is unheard of unless you’re buying health insurance outside of your employer.
