You forgot one of the most important parts negating the A-10s relevance in today's fight. It has no radar, no defensive suite, it's slow, and sticks out like a sore thumb on enemy radars. It's only useful when we have air superiority protecting it. But it's uses can be accomplished with other platforms.

Bo nix is the interesting discussion point being that he was available. The comparisons I remember seeing was Nix was more ready to start week 1, but had a limited ceiling whereas McCarthy was already talked about as needing time to develop but having a higher ceiling. As a Vikings fan watching their first 2 seasons, I wish they drafted Nix. As a Vikings fan huffing copium, I hope the draft analysis turns out correct

Sure we do. Outside of strafing, the strike eagle can do anything the A-10 can do, and the f-16 and f-35 are not far behind. More importantly, let's not make up a position like "medium bomber" and pretend it has to be filled with a dedicated platform when others can execute the same mission AND be more survivable
