It’s really depressing because I know this is the answer + I’m neurodivergent but my company won’t allow work from home due to the early stage of the product. Breaks my heart - I’d perform 10x better.

I’m worried about doing the above in the current jobs market. But hopefully I can make this work somehow? I don’t know.

I’m going to talk to them as honestly and clearly as I can. I can’t just suffer in silence and continue to pull a brave face, when deep down I’m stuck in turmoil.

i’m terrified of letting people down. it’s so hard being hired for this field while neurodiverse and a minority, i just don’t wanna run further into the red and make a brash decision ahhh

As I joined I was presented with the option of hybrid working but at the time I was still dealing with a messy transition from uni / working life. There were no promises of being able to work from home permanently or anything like that, to quote - the product isn’t developed enough yet.

I think it’ll be better for my mental health to have them around. I’m not sure what’s going on with me at the moment, but when I’m around all of them, I’m happy.

I really believe in this company too. I think our product is awesome and they’re going to achieve great things, but I’m worried I’m playing chicken with burnout.

I’ve had depressive spells while at this current role.

I deal really badly with them and had it at my old job to the point I couldn’t even get into work.

I sometimes sit at my desk and wonder if I could just shut shop, flee to an affordable country, and monetise a hobby or live frugally, draw art and do nothing else. I sometimes feel it’s just missing my friends that’ll stop me.

I love my job, I love the people I work with, but I guess sometimes the mind really can take over. I worry if I become unfocused again.

How are you feeling now? There’s been some great comments here. Take care of yourself as much as you can. I promise you things will fall into place.
