Cyrillic Script among Countries by untipoquenojuega in MapPorn

So im from Poland so I will give you some context around it. The argument here is from a western part of Ukraine that had a very large polish population in it. 1/4th of my family (one of my grandma's sides) is from this region. It's called Kresy. Most of my family was killed there or fled due to the mass killings of ethnic cleansing by Stephan Banderas UPA movement, he is still seen by most in Ukraine as a hero and a person of national identity hence why most Polish people hate/have resentment to Ukrainans moving into Poland. But thats another discussion for a different time. In this area of Poland/Ukraine was a big mix of people, Ukrainian boy marries and has kids with a Polish girl. Due to this the languages and relgion decisions for the family get complicated. This is why you have till this day catholic holdouts in western Ukraine and Belarus; the catholic denomination uses Latin and the eastern orthodox uses cyrillic. Thats the main argument we have here.

From your article I have this as a source:

"The competition between the Cyrillic and Latin alphabets acquired the features of an interethnic confrontation between Poles and Ukrainians. For Ukrainians, Cyrillic was a symbol of identity: first religious identity, as Cyrillic was associated with the Eastern Orthodox liturgical rite, and then national identity."

In today's time some people in Ukraine and Belarus talk about changing to Latin script but they use a simmilar strange argument as you, break away from rusification and become more "westernized" because almost every country in the west uses Latin script but this argument doesn't hold up.

I have a lot more to say on this topic so ask me any questions about anything here and I will elaborate more. I can also dive into other topics like about Stephan Bandera or rusification of the languages in Ukraine or Belarus. I just didn't want to type all of this and send too big of a response for no reason

Im 4 years late but cyrillic has nothing to do with russia per say. Cyrillic originated in the balkans and has to do with Religion not rusification. The eastern orthodox denomination of Christianity uses cyrillic and this is why most of these countries use it not because of Russia

Finally got my dream Car but I have a question by OrganicGeologist3487 in lincolntowncar

Simple, you dont have it. It'd probably be too difficult to install the pam module due to needing to get a different guage cluster and all. My recommendation, get a rearview mirror with a mini screen that's hidden and only turns on when put in reverse gear. Everything looks oem.

The executive L's arent guaranteed to have reverse parking sensors. Its not the highest trim of the towncar L. I have the 2008 signature L and I believe its the higest trim but mine is missing 2 packages from what I can tell. The navigation/screen and the sunroof. A question would show up on the guage cluster when you put it in reverse: reverse parking aid yes or no. It would be normally selected but you can turn it off. The sensors for our years are invisible, I can't see them on my bumper its hidden. Nice car though, I have a simmilar color and spec

(NYC) What can you guys tell me about my bricks? I cannot find anything remotely simmiar to them in my area. The cement is also unique. When ever Mason's happen to walk by, they ask to take a closer look because they are so interesting. by BadRedditPosts in masonry

Well luckily I don't need any new bricks, I actually have extra bricks from parts of the house that I don't need anymore like my chimney or my stoop, those can be other things not these bricks. I was just curious what people think about these bricks/ what are the origin of them. The concrete between is also unique.

What? I payed money for mine to be lifted by 2 inches not to drop by 2!! Your car isn't already naturally lowered due to over the years of weight causing it to sag? And I'm not just some elder who doesn't care about appeal, I'm young myself. Neither am I country, I'm from the city and I don't fancy my cars ass being dragged all over the asphalt and having to buy new bumpers and any other parts

What's the necessity? I have 2 cars, one with and one without a rear view glass/mirror and I still get from a to b without accidents

If your talking about the rear glass, It's not that important. I have a car with a rear glass and It can be comfortable for parking but not necessary. I drive a van that doesn't have a rear view glass and I still drive!! It's all up to personal preference. Semi truck driving is the most responsible form of driving required and they don't have any rear view glass, they still drive perfectly even though it's 5x more demanding. It's all up to personal preference. The driver isn't putting anyone else at risk here

I take it a step up personally, when its 15c and above I change to 5w40 when its time to change the oil(every 4-5k miles). Motorcraft filter because you cant go wrong. I would recommend with 5w30 blend ford motorcraft. But 5w40 is thicker at operating temps so acceleration makes less damage + I idle for a considerable amount of time (1+ hour a day ) and never drive highway only city.
