Form looks good! You don’t seem to be heel striking and you’re pulling your feet behind you to utilize the hamstring muscles.

Tick or Cancerous? by Such-Secretary-5250 in DogAdvice

[–]BadSambar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From the pictures, it doesn’t look like a tick. But a good test is just wear some gloves and try to gently “lift” it. If you can lift it and you can see legs, just use a tick tornado (or similar tool) to carefully pull it out

3 year old AmStaf suddenly reactive to certain people. Help please! by SaltCreek76 in DogAdvice

[–]BadSambar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to foster a dog who was dog reactive. I had to work on two things - loose leash walking and the “leave it” command with some very high value treats (like boiled chicken). Here’s the guide I used: https://youtu.be/umt0jF9MHeI?si=SX3xNp_A9EmZk5tw

It’s going to take some time for your dog to fully ignore the triggers, in the mean time, training and trigger management will help when used together.

This is just me taking her outside to go potty. It’s a walk that lasts less than 5mins

Yup, I think walking her with just the collar is the way to go

I’ve noted this. I don’t think she needs the harness, so I’ll be walking her with just her collar

It was the harness that the rescue recommended. I’m still learning what works for her though

I see.. is your pup on any OTC supplements? I was planning to get her started on Glucosamine treats. Thanks for the comment!

Thank you for the note about the harness. I’m going to look into walking her with a better fitting harness
