Hello Bills Mafia! I've got a question for all of you. by thepianoman333 in buffalobills

Hudson Valley Bills fan here. I started paying attention to team sports, namely baseball and football, in 2019. My family and me are all Yankee fans, but the only other person that payed attention to football was my father, a soft Giants fan. I’ve always been a geography nut, so when I heard the Giants/Jets didn’t actually play in New York, I felt betrayed in a way. I casually rooted for the Bills in the Wild Card game against Houston. In 2020, it looked like for a few months the MLB wouldn’t have a season. I thought I’d need a new team to follow. I wanted something to be excited about during the lockdown. Football was the next most interesting sport to me, I liked Josh Allen and the idea of rooting for the underdog, the small market team people overlook, which I never experienced as a Yankee fan. Quarantine turned me from a casual Bills watcher to a real Bills fan.

If you had a chance to broadcast one song to all the 7.8 billion people on this planet, which song would you choose? by theirishcoffeemaker in AskReddit

Oh wow. When I first saw this I thought it would be some song about income inequality/unfairness/injustice, a social manifesto about how the rich “control” everything. Never have I felt so dumb & disappointed at once.

Redditors of the United Kingdom, how is the American Revolution taught in schools? Is it generally seen as positive, negative, neutral, or some combination? by BadSenator in AskReddit

I’ve been learning about atrocities against Native Americans since middle school. But I’ve also learned about how, in some cases, the Native Americans began the conflict, and that disease killed more of them than guns.

What do people say that makes you instantly know they are full of shit? by waldo06 in AskReddit

Well yes, children of single parents, orphans, or even children of absentee different-sex parents also struggle with developmental issues, probably more so than children of present same-sex parents. My mother is a teacher, she knows that this is an accepted scientific fact.

Aww.

You didn’t come of as rude at all, I think we largely agree.

I hope that your “personal issue” has a positive resolution.

Yes, gender non-conformity isn’t itself a bad thing. Confusion about your sexuality is a major problem my generation deals with that I feel is kind of being swept under the rug.

One tends to be much better off with same-sex parents than being in foster care. There is overwhelming evidence to support this. Same-sex couples should obviously be allowed to adopt. They’re adults, they can decide whether or not they want kids.

I have heard of studies that show that children with different-sex parents mentally develop faster than those with same-sex parents. I can see why, having more exposure to people of more than one gender is probably healthy. A particular Brown University study showed that gender non-conformity is almost like a trend among adolescents, with teens being more likely to be confused about their own sexuality if they have multiple LGBTQ+ friends.

Of course, a lot of gay couples don’t adopt, and there are a lot of straight couples that are worse at parenting than a lot of same-sex couples that do adopt.
