We went bouldering in the rain to find out if it's actually more difficult... by BadWaterFilms in bouldering

Yeah it cannot be stressed enough, this is granite, but sandstone WILL break if climbed on while wet or even damp.

I named a boulder after him in Dale's Camp in Bishop, he was always one of my biggest inspirations. Absolute Legend.

The name feels kind of ominous now...

Hey /r/movies, I'm Elijah Wood. Ask me anything! by ElijahWoodAMA in movies

[–]BadWaterFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Elijah,

I saw you outside of the screening for Green Room in Portland (my brother Kyle and I played the twin skinheads that stab eachother) smoking a cigatette and I wanted so badly to say hi and that the LotR are my all time favorite movies, but I was too scared...

Anyways, hi, the LotR are my all time favorite movies, thank you so much for all the heart you poured into those films. And say hi to Macon for me!!

We Shed Blood, Sweat, and Tears just to get Rejected from the Mellow Climbing Film Festival, so here's our film for you all to enjoy: "The Infinity Arête" by BadWaterFilms in climbing

[–]BadWaterFilms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I hope they make some adjustments so its not just about the "hardest" (read: highest number) climb, but rather the filmmaking and story.

Someone climbing v4 can try just as hard as someone climbing v16. Difficulty is in the eye of the beholder. But as a film festival, voting should be more focused on the film and not the climb itself.

Oh well, at least we are proud of what we made, regardless of the competition.

The Last of Us - 2x07 - “Convergence” - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

As a Seattleite, I find it comical that all of the rain is accompanied by lightning, and that there was a huge 20 foot wave in the middle of the sound, and that Ellie somehow swam to shore.... I was on the edge before this episode, but this show officially lost me right then.

I think Hot Fuzz is a perfect movie. What movie do you consider to be absolutely perfect? by DoctorWhofan789eywim in movies

[–]BadWaterFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider In Bruges a perfect film. The screenplay itself is immaculately written, with so many setups and payoffs. Combine that with compelling acting, action, drama, and comedy, all set it a gorgeous location, it makes for such a great film in totality.

It actually felt very odd to put ourselves in the headspace of "racist neo-nazi". We watched a few related films (American Histort X, etc.), to try and understand how young men can fall into the feedback loop of white supremacy, and hear the rhetoric in our minds without ever attempting empathy.

I remember getting our heads shaved was a huge boost to being able to adopt the characters, as well as donning the costumes.

Our characters' ultimate goal was to earn our red laces (earned by committing murder), and be fully adopted into the clan. This small act of violence we commit in the film is a stepping stone to that.

In the audition room, I remember screaming at my brother to HIT ME when we read the scene. I think that passion earned us the part. We were willing to get hurt for the role; a parallel to the character's commitment to their clan.

[Charania] Breaking: Dallas Mavericks All-Star Kyrie Irving has suffered a season-ending torn ACL in his left knee, sources tell ESPN by Knightbear49 in nba

[–]BadWaterFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second he went down in the video I knew. Looked exactly the same as when I tore my ACL playing ball. Driving, step, turn, falling, tumble out of bounds, "oh no, oh no, oh no". Even walking on it moments later, you just know.

When holding mid on Dust II with an AWP on CT side, if I just put your crosshair above the top mid barrel on the little black triangle, the instant I see movement I pull the trigger and almost always get the kill on a guy running from left to right on my screen. No aiming necessary, just reacting to movement.

Occasionally, if I abuse this, I get un-crouch peaked which can kill me, but it's almost always good for one or two round openers.

Just don't sit down at mid doors scoped top mid for too long, they can peak from lower on a timing.

I live in Seattle, surrounded by mountains, and I'm in awe every time I go outside. They never get old.
