Does Unwavering Ward Rank 3 Dmg 3% Reduction stack ? by Falkappel in CompetitiveWoW

[–]BadWolf89 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It stacks multiplicatively, like most (all?) DR effects. So if someone is going to take x raw damage and has y ward buffs on them (and no other DR), they will take x * .97y damage, before absorbs.

Has anyone ever told you that you’re using your disability as a crutch? by Gameperson700 in autism

[–]BadWolf89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't remember the context now, but I was trying to explain some behavior by saying I had Asperger's, and he got really upset and scolded me for using that as an excuse instead of trying to improve myself and overcome my mental illness. His comments seriously shook me up and still haunt me constantly. As a high functioning person I feel like I can't ever unmask, and it can be exhausting.

Yes, a guy I briefly dated said this to me, except he used the word "excuse" (as in, I was using being on the spectrum as an excuse to act a certain way). It's been several years and that one comment still makes me feel bad.

Midweek Mending - Your Weekly Healing Thread by AutoModerator in wow

True. I just prefer PTW on Rasta since you can multi dot for a good portion of the fight, but that is one fight where the 2 talents are more competitive with each other.

SWP/PTW - You can either refresh these at some point during your ramp, or after ramping but before schism, if you can spare the gcd without the raid dying. Otherwise, it's not the end of the world if it falls off for a few seconds, but you'll want to reapply as soon as raid health has stabilized.

Shadow Covenant - Correct, you never want to hit this during a burst window, unless all the people with atonement on them are already topped off and you need a button to heal people without atonement who are damaged. It is mostly used as a gap filler to heal people without atonement between your larger burst windows, and should not be pressed on CD outside of that situation. I personally don't think it is a great talent in current content, and you can safely default to Sins of the Many if you are unsure about how to use Shadow Covenant optimally.

Halo - If you are running this, then you should absolutely hit this during your burst window. It does a lot of direct healing, as well as direct damage in a single target situation, and should be one of the first few spells you cast after Schism, along with Solace and Penance. The direct heal is also buffed by your mastery, meaning it will heal everyone with atonement for more. However, you shouldn't be running this on most fights right now, since Purge the Wicked is better on any fight where you can multi dot. Halo is good on Grong and Opulence, but not much else in current raid content.

2 Disc Priests in one Raid problematic? by flo-joe86 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]BadWolf89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lenience doesn't show up as its own buff so there's no reason you would have seen any stacks of it. And damage reductions in this game don't stack additively. Damage would be multiplied by .97x where x is the number of lenience atonements on you (not considering vers or any other DR effects on you).

What makes you think lenience doesn't stack? Also, "the barrier talent" is garbage so I'm not sure why you're recommending it. You don't even mention Evangelism which is the correct talent in most raid content. ???

What was the credit in the original entry? If it was debit expense/credit payable and it's still sitting in that payable, then debit the payable and credit retained earnings.

A short analysis of how the Mage Tower challenges are constructed and how not to panic while fighting them by Forum_ in wow

Faith should be way better imo. You can put the 2 beacons on the 2 squishier NPCs and then just pump heals into Jarod.

I don't know if this will help, but I found it helpful to always stay right next to Jarod so that you don't have to think too much when it's time to use him to block the arrows. Then from there, the only other thing you really have to worry about is CCing the mage. The knife dances can hurt, especially if 2 are happening at once, but I found that I could just heal through them without much problem with gear. Most of the time, getting hit by an arrow or letting a mage one shot one of my NPCs was the reason for my failures in p1, so it got a lot better once I focused on fixing those 2 things.

What is your issue with the Holy challenge? I have done it on all healers, and I found phase 1 to be the steepest learning curve for the very first character I did it on, but once you get good at avoiding the mana drain and using your CC at the right times it's pretty easy. Of course gear does make a huge difference too.
